Hi lovelies !!
We received an awesome set of theme suggestions for September's PXFC! I hope you're all as hyped as I am :DTheme suggestions are:
1. Survival Horror Game Protagonists
Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil: all classic examples of the survival horror game genre. Dress your ximbo up to face their fears and slash creatures left and right! Will your ximbo last to the final boss? Or will they be slain and you forget to save your progress? Make a look to kick ass based off some of the most iconic horror games!
2. Hexes and Hoes
Its time to get a little... witchy. Pull out your big book of spells, call out your familiars, and of course dress in your most magical attire. Are you a more "classic" looking witch? Green skin, pointy hat, black dress? Or are you more of a modern take a la The Craft? Show off your witchy fashion and have a bit of fun casting spells all over Ximboland.
3. Like a G6
Cookie monster hats, YOLO, and swag - the early 2010s were a bizarre yet colorful place to be in. Hypebeast and hiphop fashion were in, dubstep is on the radio, you can't see because your hair is perfectly swooped in front of your eyes..... you either had it, or you didn't! Be swag, stay forever young.
4. Brat
Charli XCX said it best: "you’re just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes. Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown. But kind of like, parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like, does dumb things. But it’s brat. You’re brat." embodies the vibes from party animal antics, cool-girl style, and lime green everything.
5. Shrinking Down! Moth men, lily ladies, & fairy folk
Following in the footprints of Thumbelina and Nils Holgersson we've been shrank down to the size of a daisy. Ahead awaits a world of ethereal humanoid insects, anthropomorphic flower folk, and elusive pixies. All things small hide under the leaves of raspberry bushes and the rims of red cap mushrooms. From delicate butterflies to walking mushrooms, you can be anything - as long as it fits in a shoe. So, beware the hungry foxes and treacherous rain drops as we approach the miniscule fantasy word hiding right under our noses!
6. Seasons Change
Going from summer to fall alot of things change. The weather gets colder and nature begins to change colors from green to brown and oranges. In winter everything is covered in snow and life seems to be paused. Then comes spring and plants and animals begin to flurish again. All the seasons have a destinct aesthetic. Choose ur favorite season and create a look inspired by either summer, spring, fall or winter. Maybe the transition between em? its up to you to decide <3.
7. Denpa-kei (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡
Denpa (電波) translates literally to "radio waves", but can refer to radiation emitted by any other kind of tech. Associated aesthetic elements include cuteness exaggerated to the point of excess, dissociation from reality, and an overwhelming excess of bright colours. Surrealism is back in candy colours! Glitched-out, derealised anime girlies, Harajuku meets hikkimori. Ultraviolent imagery spliced into a high-school setting, cosmic horror but make it cvnty.
8. Powerful Politicians
If you could be a ruler, what kind of ruler would you be?
Whether it is a king/queen, emperor/empress, president, or dictator of the world, underworld, Ximboland, a city, a school, land, sea, etc. let your creative mind explore the look of a leader you'd like to emulate.
