Telephones message really falls into a grey area for me.  I also found it rather amusing too, but that is just me.  I think that with a situation like that I think I would have to wait for a report from the player getting those types of messages.   One or two messages like that may be funny the first time you get it,  but if it becomes an every day occurrence I think it would qualify as harassment.

I think it counts tbh - though the bans get reset on the 1st anyway.

If it was someone I knew I would take the comment in jest. A random comment like that is obviously trolling with malicious intent.
If someone shoots you in the leg you don't wait for them to take the second shot to decide if they want to kill you.

So are you filing a complaint?
This is normally done by private message.  I also must have a direct link to the profile in question.  With a message as described above it really would only earn a very stern lesson of civility and social behavior to other players from a PB/mother,  the first time,  It obviously was written by a child and must be handled as such. The second time would be much different, I can assure you.

Your right about not just allowing it to continue, and most trolls always lose interest unless the victim fights back.  So I can't just jump in and whip around the Ban Hammer at every little thing a new player may say to someone else.   Like you said, if a friend said that to you, it would have been acceptable to you.   I wouldn't know who those friends would be,  and have to wait for official reports of poor behavior before I can do anything about it.
Obvious violations of the Terms of Service, are easy to spot and deal with instantly. Trolls are usually more crafty and skirt the rules by walking a grey area called the freedom of speech.  It's a double edged sword we both can live and die by, all depending on how we use it.  Children use words to get reactions. Every child begins to swear and curse at least once because they see the reaction it causes in adults, and around peers.  Some even make it a habit for this reason. Peer acceptance. Notice how she mentioned 3 other girls with her when she wrote that message? It is hard to see with it being so poorly written, but she does mention 2 other girls with accounts. Adult's often but not always, learn better control over their speech and are more aware of the power of words.   This is no different.  One more child causing a fuss with adult words to draw attention to themselves is nothing new.

Now lets really complicate matters and say that exact same message was sent to a 14 year old girl.  Would the context of the message still have the same meaning?  As a parent, if I saw that on a daughters account, I would be on a rampage and that account would be blocked and she would not be playing that game anymore.

As adult's our first thought was humor.  It would be a much different situation to a virgin. Some things are impossible to judge because of the nature and use of the internet by all age groups and educational levels.  What we see on the internet is only a sum of it's parts, both good and bad.  That is the price we pay to join social media in general.

I agree with you and think they should receive a ban or at least a temporary ban to show that kind of behavior isn't acceptable, however if issued the ban would be lifted in about two days as all bans for some reason get lifted during an election. What you need to do is wait till the PB is elected then PM them the link to their profile if you still have it.

@HLB, I don't think threatening to kill someone falls under the freedom of speech - even though its obvious they wont be able to do it - plus unwanted sexual comments. I have checked the terms and conditions and the PMs are in clear violation of it "The Player undertakes to respect the following when using the Game or participating in the discussion forum: Not to defame, abuse, harass, stalk or threaten any person,". Though clearly the player is young so a full ban for the first abuse is a bit much, a temporary time out ban seems like the best approach. However of course any ban issued now will be lifted on the 1st.

Well technically I already did. The link that says "report" is what I used.

This is a terrible system. Pushing the report link should already provide the admin/mod/whoever with all the information needed. As for the concequence of the report I don't really care what happens. A warning is fair but the reason shouldn't be they were a child. Sure it was a childish thing to say but plenty of "adults" would have written the very same message. They were not obviously a child, all we know is it was the allegedly the person's cousin, if that is even true.

Trolling is posting negative or inappropriate remarks to get a response from the person they are trolling. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Yes sure they are "free" to troll but most forums frown upon it and are punished as such. People have the right to free speech but if you are on private property, such as these forums, you are required to follow the rules of the property or asked to leave and the owner can enforce the rules as such.

She mentions myself and Royal Majesty because RM saw the comment and then called her a bitch. As for peer acceptance wouldn't matter in this case she mentions those other people in a private message.

Again, adults act this way too.

So the message carries the same weight no matter who it's targeted towards. You don't know who's sending the message, anonymity is a powerful thing.

I found it humorous not because it was intended to be funny but that it was such a weak sauce trolling attempt. Everyone has their own feelings. Virgins, non virgins, 60 year olds. It's dangerous to pass off a threat or insult because we aren't a certain person. Then we shouldn't say "oh well that' the price we pay" we should act accordingly.

Also as Remi said death threats are not constitutionally protected https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_free_speech_exceptions

In 1942, the U.S. Supreme Court established the doctrine by a 9–0 decision in Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire. It held that "insulting or 'fighting words,' those that by their very utterance inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace" are among the "well-defined and narrowly limited classes of speech the prevention and punishment of [which] … have never been thought to raise any constitutional problem."
