as the title says; what are some of your interests or hobbies that people could consider weird? my weird interest is probably bugs, love those little guys so much.

i dont think this is necessarily weird but i really like looking for really specific sounding music from unpopular bands that havent been active since before the 2010s theyre usually really fun and unfortunately not on spotify

Outside of that I really love clowns, i collect clown dolls and stuff. I've also been really into the idea of, and i know this is a little gross, but I've been wanting to find local dentists and orthodontists who are willing to sell the teeth they got so I can make art with them

Taxidermy Art :) I grew up in a household where we weren’t allowed to have pets, but we had lots of taxidermy mounts! My great uncle was a prized big game artist who went all over the world painting exotic animal scenes. We were gifted prints of his over the years, and between those and the actual taxidermy (we had deer, buffalo, rams, hawks, a warthog, gazelle, even a barracuda!) I grew to love seeing those still-life captures of animals.
I don’t advocate hunting or anything like that, I just love seeing life so still and beautifully captured forever. Seeing it now reminds me of home :) I have quite a few interesting pieces in my own home now.

I suppose geology?? Have many citrine clusters (my favourites), a big chunk of obsidian, several green citrine points, a few geodes, a rose quartz and a lot of tumbled minerals! But i’m way more interested in raw stones, gems and minerals, rather than polished or tumbled ones.

pressing pennies :) i found a website a while ago with a very comprehensive list of penny press machine locations.. there were a bunch of machines around me, and i had some pressed pennies from growing up and collecting them as cheap souvenirs, so it just clicked as a hobby :) now whenever i go on road trips or out of my city for any reason, i try to find a penny press somewhere along the way :) and the actual locations of the machines, inside small restaurants & niche gift shops, at national parks & little free museums, etc, theyre often very interesting and fun to explore. the goal is the penny but finding the machine is like a real life videogame mission and the adventures you go on in the process are so fun!! then you get to take the penny home and it has so many memories attached :)

I really love fish and aquatic mammals. I think they are so cool and beautiful in their own unique way. I dream to one day swim with wild dolphins. The only problem is that I don't know how to swim :(
Oh no. I have So Many.
First of all as a digital artist who enjoys drawing people the most I am way too invested in seeing beautiful detailed or just generally interesting textures in art, but especially in skin. Like, sometimes I'm looking at a skyrim skin retexture mod or something and I zone out while looking at the goosebumps or the fricking sweat droplets on the skin.
Second of all, I'm not sure what exactly started this but there's a good chance it was Hermaeus Mora, I unironically think tentacles are hot. But also pretty. I'm fixated on aesthetics and sometimes a thing is attractive to me in a platonic way and a not so platonic way at the same time and tentacles are one of those things.
But also generally monsters, and by monsters I mean monsters like the Xenomorph from the Alien, not an anime girl who looks like she's 12 and has horns. The closer to a basic human framework we get the more inclined I am to call that cowardly unisnpired garbage when it comes to aliens etc.
I also like repainting dolls and doing shiny pastel jewelry with epoxy resin. Those aren't so strange but maybe a little obscure. Also kind of expensive hobbies to have when one is a student.
