Hi all. I know it seems like I left kind of out of blue, so I wanted to give you all a longer explanation. I'm sorry that things didn't work out and that you went without a PB for two months. I was very happy to see that iulja continued my work for democratically selecting the DQFC theme. I'm really blown away by all of your looks the last two contests.
I've been coping with post-traumatic stress disorder for a few years. It took a larger toll on me this year because I finished my graduate work and don't have that to distract me. I was working 20 hours a week, and the rest of my time I spent here. It was a great distraction for a while, but I had stress coming at me from many different directions, and in July, I had a breakdown. I started taking Prozac, which has done amazing things for me, but for the first six weeks of taking it, I was so depressed I couldn't even manage to turn on the TV. During this time, I got a call for an interview at a college, which is what I've been working toward. It was an amazing opportunity. Between my fragile mental health and the stressful situations I found myself in as PB, I barely managed to prepare the presentation that was required of me for the interview. Needless to say, I didn't get it, which only worsened my mental state. It was a few weeks later that I resigned as PB.
It ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made for myself. I disconnected from social media earlier this year. Between that and taking a leave of absence from Bimboland, I had time to focus on getting better and achieving my professional goals. Last Monday, I started my new job at a university. Next month, my husband and I are buying a new home. I am in therapy and still taking Prozac (which I lost 15 pounds on! OMG!), and I am happier and more relaxed than I've ever been.
I absolutely adore the people of Bimboland, and I hope to come back in full someday. But right now, this continued leave of absence is the best thing for me. I hope you all are doing well. And I hope the next Prime Bimbo is absolutely fabulous.
