Just throwing in my two cents! I can't help but think it would be better if a player from each of the two opposing groups were elected each term, and they had to work together to come up with a set of rules that worked for everyone, not just for one group of players.
I'm not convinced that two very opposing political groups will always be the case in Ximboland, but if sometime in the future there are three groups the solution is to elect three players that have to work together to find common ground, one from each group of course. And if there's only one political view to choose from, well... I guess then we all agree!
