It's scary to even come up as gay/lesbian/bi ect, trans people are even more marginalized and there's no laws to protect us or something to allow trans people to legally transition.

I live in Russia and they r makin a bill to illegalize the transition, documents change and surgeries here, before that tey made "anti LGBT propaganda" law

honestly i feel like a lot of contry take one step forward and a marathon back??? its a scary thing ngl. i live in canada so its "progressive" but like,,, depending on where you live ppl are still very misinformed, the name changing steps i tried to take were way too much for me as a kid, had to go to a cop shop, had to go to a cort hall, it was too overwhelming for me and i was young and mentally ill so like??? i just gave up. and im in a religious lil town and i dont know if coming out will fuck with the family i live with or get me shunned. honestly i feel like i just want to elope with my partners into the alps an never be heard from again..,,

I don't fit in the trans label but I did used to think I was trans so I've grown close to the community. I'm from the US and live in Florida. There for a bit I was really convinced trans folk were heading to be accepted much more just like being gay was. I thought they were going to get more rights just like gay people have (surrounding gay marriage.) It's scary to see just how brutally the trans community has been attacked by lawmakers these days. I'm not someone who likes to dramatize outcomes, but I can't help but to ignore the looming feeling of genocide. And I hope I'm wrong. Grown adult trans people are losing access to hormones here in Florida, but if you ask a centrist, they insist only hormones for children have been affected.
I see no strong opposition for Republicans coming from Democrats. As much as leftists insist that democrats will never be radical enough and that a president will change nothing, the fact that Republicans have no strong opposition from Democrats is allowing THEIR radicalism to run rampant. I watched the republican debates. If I remember correctly, not one candidate didn't bring up wanting to bring in laws to deny children transition, and some went as far to talk about adults. I was even more worried to find out that Democrats will not be having their own debate, and I'm also worried there are only 3 options for a democratic candidate and besides Biden I have absolutely no idea what their plans are. And lets be real, Biden has been absolutely useless, has opinions that actively harm leftist interests, and has let the right wing get away with too much under his presidency.
I feel helpless and useless watching this all go down. And not to say that trans folk are any less important than any other minority group, once the right succeeds with criminalizing being transgender, other minorities are next. There has already been talk from some politicians of wanting to reverse gay marriage and even interracial marriage. We already had a whole ass amendment overturned. With that amendment being overturned, its completely possible for a state to ban ALL forms of birth control. They likely won't get that far, but its still possible.
I know I've probably gotten too political about this and veered into other topics, but the past 3 years have put me in total shock.

I think there needs to be more discussion on age of consent and mental health concerns when it comes to transitioning. many people are aware trans people exist now and that is a good thing in regards to knowing there is options out there. stay safe!
