My observation MAY have been incited by recent stupidities, but actually precedes it by quite a bit. It has more to do with the treatment of others, the personal disrespect and bullying that are more typical of juvenile males that I was referring to. Shall I give specific examples or will you just leave well-enough alone.
I have been called out on two separate by some rather confused people, for appropriating "Asian culture", that famus monolith when I was particpating in in a themed contest explicitly designed to dress in an Asian style. That I adopted it as my 'fantasy' look was incidental (I would think that anyone sane would be far more disturbed by the ultraviolent fantasies that so many of the players here display, not to mention the anatomically impossible wings and mermaids, but I don't BLAME them for having those fantasies, especially considering how few and restrictive the options are that are supplied to us in the shops.) In my original response to the attacks I received when I posted the raher facetious 'all fashion is cultural appropriation', I acknowledged that I had been wrong in one of my examples. Of course, neither you nor he read the response, instead focussing on my insistence that his personal attack made no grammatical sense. Subsequently, I have received DMs where I have been called a priveleged cis and what's worse, an American. I have been called names and then blocked by several people with whom I have NEVER interacted. So, dear Railophone, you are wrong: I can accept and adjust to criticism and encourage dialogue. But I do not like being called things I am not. And do not like being blocked without explanation. And if you do not recognize the change in overall tone of Bimbo-land since the new year, then you haven't been paying attention. .
