SO many books, movies, and shows get run on for so long for no good reason...this unpopular opinion in particular used to annoy me so much when i was more of a reader. like i know the profit is crazy but like supply and demand and all that gross capitalism shit right? people demand sequels and i just don’t understand. i’d say maybe 7-8 times out of 10 things are just better left as they are!! especially when sequels/extra seasons were never planned from the beginning... it’s so sloppy and disappointing. why can’t we learn to enjoy things for what they are and not have to try and relive them again and again.. why can’t we just let go..?

I feel like both readers and writers are too concerned with how long the story is, whether it's books comics or movies, to pay any mind to just. Having a fullfilling resolution to a complete story. It's especially annoying to me because I'm a baby amateur comic writer and I struggle with plot a lot because what I want most from my writing is for it to be a good story with a good ending. It's such a simple concept but apparently it's like. Super hard.

dear evan hansen is a condescendingly ableist mess of a musical and should not have gotten the tony for best musical over great comet or come from away. evan spends the entire musical lying and treating the people around him like garbage but faces no consequences in the end because of his anxiety. as someone with an anxiety disorder myself it's absolutely not an excuse for any of what he did. i'm absolutely going to get trashed for this but i saw this musical live and am reasonably convinced i know what i'm talking about.
