Fashion has long been used as a form of protest.  Have a look at Femen, Cicciolina, the suffragettes, Black Panthers and so many more.  Think about the hippies, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, burning bras, pussyhats worn in the recent match on Washington.  There's so much inspiration.  Think of an issue close to your heart and have a little search on the internet.

Hah, I shoul've read this earlier. I didn't realize that it's different theme every month prior to entering. I thought that it's simply 'drag queen contest' lol. So if you see somebody that wants to change the world wearing a fabulous sparkly gown, that's me :D

I have always found it extremely hard to understand the themes on the DQFC. Totally missed the protest theme, I just couldn't wrap my head around it. For this month I understood that the theme is fortune-telling. I took part in the competition with a basic look, I didn't want to spend my precious B$ to buy themed clothing for the competiton since I don't have any other use to them and I know I wouldn't win anyways :P

I could understand if some people didn't understand last months theme, it was a dud in my opinion, and the halloween theme should have been in October. But it was a recycled theme, not what Iulja had planned I believe.

As for this past theme you could have worked with what you have, find some kind of "witchy" gown or just something that looks rustic. Put on a witch hat, or buy the fortune ball, and just work with whatever else. I'll never understand when people waste 250B and just submit in their regular clothes, if you didn't want to waste your money buying clothes, you still just wasted money by entering xD. DQFC is meant to be very specific, fashion fights are for casual outfits. And since you can skip outfits now if they aren't pertaining to the theme, there is no point for people to enter who just entered for the sake of it. Not trying to be mean-spirited or anything I'm just trying to give suggestions, best bet would be to not participate in every months DQFC, save some $B for the next one if you are strapped on B$. Probably the next one will be relating to the holidays.

I didn't know you can skip the DQFC voting. I have always hated it when none of the outfits fit the theme but you just had to pick one. Thanks for the tip!
