Here are the current forum and site rules for Ximboland. Please take a little time to read through them and keep them in mind when interacting with others around the site. Most of them are simply here to make sure everyone can enjoy the community, have their opinions, disagree sometimes, and still treat each other fairly and respectfully.

Forum Etiquette
✅ Allowed
· Constructive debates and disagreements.
· Respectful discussion of opinions and sensitive topics.
· Friendly conversations, jokes and playful banter, as long as they are not intended to target or upset others.
· Asking questions, offering advice and helping other players.
· Sharing relevant links, images or other content that contributes to the discussion.
❌ Not Allowed
· Insults, personal attacks, threats, or hurtful comments.
· Deliberate provocation or inflammatory behavior.
· Personal arguments unrelated to the topic of a thread.
· Report Abuse: Knowingly false, malicious, or repeated reports made without reasonable grounds.
· Spam, repeated posts, duplicate threads, posts with no meaningful content, or otherwise unnecessarily flooding the forum.
· Off-topic posts/repeatedly derailing threads or posting content unrelated to the topic.
· Advertising contests, sales, services or other content in unrelated threads. Please keep promotions to appropriate threads or spaces (profile comments, xeets).
✨ Keep in Mind
· Remember there’s a real person behind every username.
· Report rule-breaking instead of escalating it. Reports should be made in good faith and based on actual behavior, not assumptions.
· Start a new thread only if no thread exists on the same topic.

Violence & Sensitive Content
✅ Allowed
· Respectful discussion of controversial topics, world events, and personal experiences.
❌ Not Allowed
· Graphic or excessively violent content.
· Glorifying violence or targeting others with harmful intent.

· Fictional/comedic violence and satire are allowed when clearly harmless and contextual.

Privacy & Personal Information
✅ Allowed
· Sharing your own personal information at your own discretion.
❌ Not Allowed
· Sharing or threatening to share someone else's private information without permission.
· Sharing private or intimate content involving another person without their consent.
· Attempting to access another player's account without authorization.

· What someone chooses to share privately does not automatically give permission for it to be reposted publicly.

Adult & Erotic Content
✅ Allowed
· Suggestive outfits and poses.
· Flirting and consensual erotic roleplay in private/designated spaces. (Bimboland National Gallery and Theatre, Cindy's Sex Shop)
· Artistic, non-explicit nudity.
❌ Not Allowed
· Explicit sexual content or genitalia.
· Extreme, violent, or non-consensual sexual content.
· Real-life explicit photos or videos.
✨ Keep in Mind
· Adult content belongs in private or designated spaces such as Cindy’s Sex Shop and must respect everyone’s boundaries.

Child Safety
✅ Allowed
· Respectful discussion and awareness of child safety issues without harmful media.
❌ Not Allowed
· Any sexual exploitation or abuse involving minors.
· Media depicting physical abuse or fights involving minors.
· Content that could normalize or contribute to harm against children.
✨ Keep in Mind
· Anyone under 18 is considered a minor.
· Zero tolerance applies even to fictional or AI-generated exploitative content.

Abuse & Harassment
✅ Allowed
· Constructive criticism and respectful disagreement.
· Criticism of ideas, systems, features, and policies.
❌ Not Allowed
· Targeted or repeated harassment.
· Personal attacks or mockery.
· Inciting harassment, doxxing, violence, or real-world harm.
· Ignoring blocks or repeatedly contacting someone who has asked to be left alone.
· While criticism of policies, actions, and staff conduct is allowed, deliberate attempts to disrupt, sabotage, or falsely delegitimize and undermine Ximboland's established government, appointments, or democratic processes are not.

· Criticize ideas, not people.
· Intent does not automatically excuse harmful behavior; context and impact may be considered.

Abuse of Power & Official Tools
✅ Allowed
· Using official tools when reasonably necessary to perform your role (MoJ, FP, MoF, MoE, MoFA, SM).
· Moderating, warning, restricting, or taking action against players when supported by Ximboland’s rules. This is a job only for MoJ and FP.
❌ Not Allowed
· Using official tools to punish, intimidate, inconvenience, or retaliate against another player for personal reasons.
· Jailing, warning, muting, editing, deleting, or otherwise restricting players without a reasonable rule-based justification.
· Targeting someone because of a personal disagreement, friendship, rivalry, or political conflict.
· Using an official position to threaten or pressure players into doing something unrelated to that role.
· Repeated or excessive use of tools beyond what is reasonably necessary for the situation.
· Retaliation instead of contacting MoJ or FP.
✨ Keep in Mind
· Official powers are granted to perform a role, not as personal privileges.
· Suspected abuse should be reported rather than retaliated against.

Hateful Conduct
✅ Allowed
· Respectful debate and criticism of ideas or beliefs.
❌ Not Allowed
· Hate speech or discrimination.
· Slurs or identity-based insults.
· Deliberate misgendering.
· Harmful stereotypes or generalizations.
· Threats, cyberbullying, or encouraging others to harass someone.
· Inciting or glorifying violence.
✨ Keep in Mind
· Freedom of speech does not protect harassment or hate speech.
· Humor or satire may still be moderated if it crosses that line.

Alternate Accounts
✅ Allowed:
· Owning and using alternate accounts.
· Using alts for fashion, roleplay, socializing, or simply experiencing the game differently.
· Keeping an alternate account separate from your main account and allowing it to develop its own identity and activity.
❌ Not Allowed:
· Using alt accounts together to harass, target, intimidate, or overwhelm another player.
· Using an alternate account to impersonate another player or deliberately mislead others about someone’s identity.
· Using alts to repeatedly continue behavior that has already resulted in moderation action on another account.
· Using alts, other players, threads or other methods to contact someone who has blocked you or whom you have blocked.
✨ Keep in Mind:
· As per admin rules, alts are treated as individual accounts. Any action taken against them must therefore be based on the account’s own actions and behavior.
· Alternate accounts are allowed and should not be punished simply for being suspected or identified as alts.
· Reports should be based on actual rule-breaking behavior from the account in question, with reasonable evidence if possible.
· When there is reasonable evidence that multiple accounts are being used together to evade moderation or abuse Ximboland’s systems, their connection may be considered when reviewing the situation.
· Using alts to artificially manipulate votes, reputation, or other stats where doing so would give one player an unfair advantage is not currently prohibited by the general website rules, nor is there an official statement regarding it. However, it is generally frowned upon within the community.

False Accusations & Smear Campaigns
✅ Allowed:
· Sharing genuine experiences or concerns about another player.
· Respectful criticism of a player’s actions or conduct.
· Reporting suspected rule violations through the appropriate channels.
❌ Not Allowed:
· Knowingly spreading false or misleading accusations.
· Creating or encouraging public campaigns intended primarily to damage another player’s reputation.
· Coordinating attacks, harassment, or hostility toward another player.
· Presenting speculation or unverified claims as established facts.
✨ Keep in Mind:
· Criticism is allowed; targeted harassment is not.
· Personal disputes and serious accusations should be reported rather than turned into public campaigns.
· Moderation will consider context, intent, and evidence.

Suicide & Self-Harm
✅ Allowed
· Supportive discussions, personal experiences, and helpful resources.
❌ Not Allowed
· Encouraging or glorifying suicide or self-harm.
· Sharing methods or instructions.
· Telling someone to harm or kill themselves.

· Sensitive conversations should remain supportive and respectful.

Illegal or Regulated Goods & Services
✅ Allowed
· General discussion of substances or activities that are legal where applicable.
❌ Not Allowed
· Buying, selling, or facilitating illegal drugs.
· Human trafficking or exploitation.
· Buying, selling, or trafficking weapons.
· Illegal sexual services.
· Trade involving endangered species.
· Helping others carry out illegal activities.

· Discussion is different from facilitating illegal activity.

You may also notice two new categories: False Accusations & Smear Campaigns and Abuse of Power & Official Tools. Both were previously considered somewhat implied by our existing rules, but they deserved their own sections to avoid any confusion. The first helps draw a clearer line between genuine criticism and attempts to publicly target someone, while the second makes it clear that official tools come with responsibility and should always be used fairly.

Hopefully, having these written out more clearly will make expectations easier for everyone going forward.

✨ What happens if you break the rules?
Punishments depend on the severity of the offense and may be adjusted depending on the situation.

Minor offenses: Warning.
Moderate offenses: 1-3 day forum ban.
Major offenses: 3-5 day forum ban or jail.
Repeated offenses will lead to increasingly longer penalties: warning → 1–3 day forum ban → 5 day forum ban → 1, 3, 7 or 30 days in jail. Let's hope we won't reach permanent ban requests.

For player reports, please use the “Report Ximbo” button found under the comments section on their profile. For post reports, use the “Report Post” button on the upper right side of the post. For bugs or other issues, use the “Report Problem” button on the Contact Us page.

While we hope these rules cover everything needed to navigate the website with common sense and consideration for others, new situations may come up. If they highlight the need for an additional rule or clarification, it will be added and clearly marked as a later addition.
