Hello, Republic of Ximboland! I’m here to present to you my long-awaited manifesto! Now, a lot of you already knew I was running, so I’d like to take a brief moment and discuss with you why I have chosen to run, the journey I’ve been on to get to this point, and a bit about me, if you will.
My name is bxdcherri, or Cherri for short. I’m turning 22 this year, have just finished my degree at university and I’m from the UK. My hobbies include gaming, video editing, any form of creative output (art, writing, design) and Ximboland. I speak English as my first language
and study Spanish in my spare time.
I have very much enjoyed playing Bimboland since I joined the site, largely because of the incredible community that has been built over the years. I truly feel like Ximboland is a breath of fresh air compared to most other games/websites, the positivity, inclusivity and genuinely pleasing atmosphere that we all maintain on this site makes it a haven for many of us to enjoy after a long day. Whether that be reading
Janeze’s Reputation Thread like it’s your morning newspaper, or enjoying a debate over on
Blecky’s Serious Talk Thread. Perhaps you’re enjoying the battle between which is better,
Tea or Coffee? Or enjoy grinding your badges by spamming
F in the chat. Whatever the case, a large part of Ximboland is its forum space, and that is why I fell in love with this game. Many of us, myself included, probably play or have played other dress-up games but, something keeps bringing us back here. Why?
Community.
But let’s not forget the dress-up aspect entirely, as it is also another large part of the game. I think a brilliant feature that sets Bimboland apart from other dress-up games is the layering. Players are free to wack as many things onto their bimbo as they like. This feature leaves so much room for creativity that’s truly lost on some other games. Want to layer three big red wigs onto your bimbo to create a magnificent hairdo that is unique to you, and only you? Bimbolands got you covered (
I see you Rei ;)). Maybe you love combining different shoes to create the best whomper stompers in town…ahem,
yazabelle and ediblegoats ;), Bimboland will let you do that. And let’s not forget the freedom to create whatever background you want with whatever digitals you see fit, like
KatieBoutique so effortlessly achieves.
Now,
why have I blabbed about this for 3 paragraphs? Because I feel it’s important that your Prime Bimbo recognises, appreciates and understands why this site is, this site. Having a Prime Bimbo who has actively spoken to a lot of her constituents, as well as understands the importance of keeping their community happy, are two key things for a Prime Bimbo, two key things that I possess.
I’d like to take a second and talk about what the majority of us do not come to the site for.
Politics. The reason why I chose Reasonopia is because of its policies; Guns: Against. Death Penalty: Against. Abortion: Pro. These largely align with how I view the world and the type of person I am. As it stands, I honestly feel
real world politics hold little importance over how the site should be run, that being said; I am a firm believer the site should
NEVER allow hate speech in any form, regardless of political stance.
Finally, before we dive into what I’d like to change and keep on the site, I’d like to discuss why I believe I’m qualified for the role of Prime Bimbo from an administration perspective. I joined Bimboland back in April 2022 so I’ve certainly not been around for as long as some of you, but feel I have been around long enough to have been able to learn the intricacies of the website and its community. I’ve spent almost 2 years on this site now, 6 months of which have been as a State Minister and in the past, I have moderated two separate Facebook groups consisting of 60,000+ people.
Pledges
Current PB Responsibilities
I would like to continue the tradition of crazes throughout the site. In the past, Prime Bimbos have laid out what crazes are coming up on the site, regularly adding them to help boost our enjoyment and stats. I really like this feature, as I know a lot of you do, so I would like this to continue. Another good system we already have is the PXFC suggestions. Everyone looks forward to PXFC, whether that’s because you've submitted a theme that's won, you love creating new outfits, or you’re trying to get that sweet gold trophy at the end. Either way, a large part of what makes PXFC great is the community suggestions we have. I’d like to continue doing this as well, for the benefit of everyone on the site.
Shop Workers and Designers
Ximboland is a great place for expressing creativity through our digital outfits, thanks to the hard work our shop workers and our designers put into the site. Currently, we only have two shop workers. As PB, I would like to take some of the pressures off of our current shop workers by employing some more to help alongside them. This is a commendable role as you will be greatly helping with the workload that the shop workers have to hold, and in turn will help put out more clothes for everyone on the site to enjoy. This role would require you to quality check each design submitted, ensuring that each item fits correctly and matches the general theme and quality that the shop currently upholds. I think this will be a very beneficial update to Ximboland.
Another issue regarding Shop Workers and Designers is that currently, there is not a way to pay people for their time and dedication put into maintaining the shop. I propose that, with the help of admins, we implement a system where shopworkers would get frequent rewards for maintaining the shop. An example of this would be, a free month of senatorship for each month someone works as a shop worker. I also believe designers work extremely hard and therefore should be paid accordingly, an example could be they submit a pair of shoes, being rewarded a flat 50 Diamonds, then an extra 5 for each colour they submit. This decision, however, is largely up to the admin's discretion and is something I would love to try and implement with their permission. Here are some of my proposed changes to bring the shop back to it’s former glory:
- Employ additional shop workers to share workload and keep submission backlog to a minimum.
- Enforce a quality control checklist to ensure all submissions meet a minimum standard of quality and are fit for purpose. Such as, image resolution, fully transparent backgrounds (no random white boxes), and correct fit (tailored to the models available) etc.
- Compensate both workers and designers for their efforts in stocking and maintaining the shop.
Forum Changes
Currently, the forum space is somewhat unorganised, and having spoken to many players about their first impression of the site, the thing they had trouble coming to grips with was the forum. I propose these changes to help better understand categories, ensure a more streamlined experience for both new and old players and just a general quality of life update.
Politically speaking, I don’t expect everyone on the site to believe in the same ideals as I do, in fact, I encourage political discussion. I do not believe Ximboland is a place where many of us go to discuss such topics, however, that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a place for it here on the world's first Internet Republic. Moving forward, I propose we loosen the reins slightly on controversial topics being discussed, but ensure that there is a dedicated space in the forum for these topics to take place. That way, if people want to engage in more in-depth debates, they can do so, and those who wish to avoid it can also go about their bimbo lives undisturbed.
Below are some of the changes I am proposing for the forum:
- Organise “Government Announcements” by consolidating “Announcements from Boob Palace” and “Announcements from the Future”
- Reduce the number of pinned threads in all categories to only the most important and/or informative threads per section.
- Create a new forum sub-section under “Ximbo Citizens” dedicated to the shop, shop workers and general shop-related discussions, all current shop threads will be moved here.
- Under “Ximbo Citizens” create a new subsection as a dedicated space for political discussion
Fashion Police, Rules and Moderation:
This brings me to my next topic, moderation. I want to appoint my own Fashion Police to help me moderate the site. I plan to do this by opening up applications using a Google Questionnaire, and handpicking a few Fashion Police who I believe have adequate experience in moderating (either on this site or off-site platforms). They will remain unbiased in both personal disagreements and political debates, will be active throughout my entire term and will encourage other users to be as well, whilst also being able to take criticism fairly and justly. I’m looking for dedicated users who are not only frequently active on the site, but are also friendly with members, and will be able to help me with the work involving rearranging some things in the forum for better organisation. If you feel you fit the criteria, please use
this link to fill out an application form. I promise to only pick people who I believe will help bring a positive impact on the site. Below is how I, alongside my FP, plan to keep track of offences on the site with a 3 strikes policy:
- 1st offence: warning
- 2nd offence: warning
- 3rd offence: warning
- 4th offence: 24/hr forum ban
- 5th offence: 24/hr jail
- 6th offence: jail for 3 days
- 7th offence: jail for 7 days
- 8th offence: jail for 30 days
Furthermore, posts will no longer be deleted and edited without clear clarification as to why. Going forward, I propose the following system:
- When posts are edited, include
“[FP] edited, for breaking [rule], at [time]” at the bottom of the post.
- Instead of deleting posts, edit posts to say
“this post was deleted by [FP] for breaking [rule] at [time].”
This helps all users understand the context of a thread after it has been edited, whilst also reassuring players that FP and PB are dealing with rulebreakers promptly and professionally.
Moderation and rules have been quite a topic of discussion lately, so I’d like to also go into the current forum rules we have and how I’d like to reword some of them for clarity and more consistent enforcement:
“1. Treat everyone with respect. Insults, slandering, personal attacks, any kind of language that incites and promotes discrimination, hatred or violence towards single person or a group are not allowed.
”
I propose to reword this rule into:
“
1. Treat everyone with respect. Discrimination against someone’s protected characteristics is prohibited. Discrimination is defined as prejudicial outlook, action, or treatment of different categories of people. Protected characteristics include: age, gender, being married or in a civil partnership, being pregnant, disability, race including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion, sex and sexual orientation. Discrimination against someone’s weight and mental illness is also strictly prohibited"
It is important to note that strong opinions on topics, such as politics, are allowed and will not be censored. Keep things respectful, educational and non-harmful towards other players. Dehumanisation based on one’s identity, genetics, health etc is strictly not allowed.
“3. Do not spam!”
I propose to reword this rule into:
“3. Do not spam. Spam is prohibited. Spam includes posts with no discernible content or posts that are either gibberish and/or repeatedly posting the same thing multiple times in a row (threads where this is the stated purpose are excluded).
”
“4. Pornography, NSFW and any other explicit or disturbing content is not allowed!”
I propose to reword this rule into two parts:
“4a. Pornography and other NSFW images are prohibited. This includes images with visible genitals, visible nipples and depictions of sex acts. (this does not include the visible nipples and/or genitals in bimbo outfits)"
“4b. Violent imagery is prohibited. This includes graphic pictures, videos or drawings of people or animals getting hurt.
”
“6. Do not advertise commissions, services and businesses, either personal or other.”
I propose to reword this rule into:
“6. Do not advertise commissions, services and businesses, without explicit permissions from FP or PB. Ximboland is not responsible for any off site purchases or scams.
Do so at your own risk”
Everything stated above is largely something I can achieve without the help of admins, and my main priority goals come my terms. These goals were written with the idea of Prime Bimbos only having 2 months per term (I’m still unsure if this is going to be the case come election day, but it is better to plan with this in mind). However, I’d like to discuss some long term goals I have in mind. These are mainly updates I’d like to see implemented into the site.
Website Updates
Overhaul Block Function
The first update I’d like to see added to Ximboland is a better Block function. The primary goal of the block feature is to give users control over their online interactions, protect them from harassment and create a more comfortable online environment for them. I feel the current block feature we have does not allow this. Despite blocking a user, you can still freely interact with them on the forums. I propose, with the help of admins, that if you block someone you can no longer see their posts on the forum. This helps protect people if they choose to no longer interact with a user in a more comprehensive way.
Outfit Duplication
Secondly, a simple quality of life update, I’d like to add a feature where you can duplicate an outfit you’ve created onto an empty slot. This is primarily helpful for those who have complicated layers for their “base” bimbo. For example, lots of makeup textures, skin textures and eye makeup layers to create someone’s “default” face. This way, players won’t need to refer to their older outfits (or even a spreadsheet) to put all of their items in the correct order for layering, and saves a lot of time and tedious hassle when creating new outfits.
Player Homes
I’ve largely gone into how I would like to add Player Homes to the game on
Miss Bimbos Democracy thread here. But in short, I’d like to add a new feature to each player's profile, where you have your own home. You can decorate it as you wish, and it’d be cool if you could also have other Ximbos visit and use the live chat feature like you can when you send your Ximbo to work. As far as I can tell, Miss Bimbo has really liked this idea and it should hopefully be happening, however, I’m unsure if it will happen during my term, or in the future.
