Hello everyone!! I had an idea pop into my head this morning for a fun winter/holiday activity to do, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day! So without further ado, this month’s SM contest/activity will be an Atheista White Elephant gift exchange! For those of you who don’t know, White Elephant is a holiday gift swapping game, where you can open new gifts or steal them from other players! I’ll explain the rules in more detail later in the post :)
Right now, is the Sign Up phase. If you would like to participate leave a post here. The deadline to enter is Friday, December 15th at 23:59 XL time!! Also, I highly recommend subscribing to the post as we’ll be playing the game here as well!! Here’s how it will go:
Gifts:
- Instead of everyone bringing a gift to swap/steal/open, it will be mystery prizes from me! The number of players will determine the number of prizes, and how big those prizes are. Prizes will be things like diamonds, chests, tokens, etc. Everyone who participates will end up with a prize!
Turns:
I will use a list randomizer to determine the order of people’s turns. When it is your turn, I will send you a DM letting you know. You must take your turn within 48 hours of being messaged!! Ideally you would take your turn as soon as possible so that we don’t have to wait too long, but I do understand that December is a busy time for people so that's why it's 48 hours. Here is how turns work:
Once the game is started, please only post something if I’ve messaged you, or said that it’s your turn in one of my posts!!! I think this will help avoid confusion
- The first person to go will choose a gift to open by stating the number of the corresponding gift they want. I will then post what that gift was, and send a message to the second player that it is their turn
- The second person to take a turn has two options 1) open a new gift or 2) steal from the previous player.
- If they choose to steal the first player's prize, that person would get to take another turn and either steal an item or open a new one. If they open a new item, then the order will resume and I will go to the next person who has not taken their turn. If they steal, the person who was stolen from will take their turn. This cycle continues until everyone has received a prize.
- Each item can be stolen a total of two times. With each turn, I will keep track and update the thread with which items are opened, who has them, and how many times they have been stolen, and whether they are able to be stolen.
Rules:
- Only Atheistans are eligible to participate. If you do not take your turn within 48 hours, you will unfortunately be skipped and won’t receive a prize. Depending on the number of players, this could potentially take a long time and I’m aiming for it to be over by the end of December at the latest :) I also work long shifts and won't be able to post a lot during the day except during my break, so I appreciate your patience with me! <3<3
