I really appreciate folks educating us newer players and allllllllllllll of the labor of the mods and organizers. And this is such a microcosm of life under these freaking technocratic oligarchs. We, ordinary people, users, bring the value and the vibrancy to these platforms--Bimboland but also facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc etc etc but have no control of the circumstances of all the artistic, educational, and intellectual labor we put in, or the connections we make. It's some bullshit and the unchecked racism, white supremacy, ableism, anti-sex worker bullshit, cissexism and heterosexism and sexism are just--a fucking lot. Not ok.

Since there's an influx of Everskies users coming to BL now, which is a site mainly occupied by 13-16 year old kids, I am BEGGING TB to put BL's minimum age to play back to 18+ so these kids will get the message that this really isn't the place for them to be and that this is a very adult oriented site
im kind of late to this thread and most of my concerns with BL have already been discussed, so there's not much else that i can add. as a whole, this site is a hot mess being held together by an extremely dedicated community. the fact that the age limit was lowered with no real effort to accommodate such a significant change just reflects chris's overall attitude towards BL. the guy does not care lol.
ever since i joined earlier this year, it's been a constant one-sided battle between the community and chris/TB, with everybody collectively voicing their concerns on issues ranging from minor (bugs, minigames etc.) to issues that are major (transphobia/homophobia/racism/sexism/etc, the use of triggering language/terms, this new age-limit, etc) and all to no avail because the people running this site just seem to be completely incompetent. all of the changes that have been implemented over this past year have been solely due to specific users pestering TB, i honestly dont even know why theyre running this site. they havent added a single item to the shops in a hot minute. practically EVERYTHING is done by players.
chris is only holding onto this site for that little bit of profit its getting him, which is a shame because it actually has a very nice community of users who are extremely dedicated. the fact that shop-workers and contest hosts, for example, put so much effort into making this game a much more enjoyable environment honestly gets so overlooked. and bare in mind, they don't get compensated (i already ranted about this some months ago in another thread so there's no point repeating myself - i think everyone understands why it's a little unfair). if chris were to stop profiting off of the site, it would be shut down because there seems to be no real passion towards it on his behalf. so to be honest i'm not really sure what to do at this point.
TB have been pestered about over half of these issues for a while now. while there have been some changes over the past year (such as changing the name of the PBFC, adding more slots), it does seem as though a lot of extremely serious issues are getting overlooked. you can't just change the emoticon icons to pumpkins on halloween and act like you did somethin luv... you didnt do anything, that was such a minor part of a major issue. but anyway im thankful that this is being brought to light on a larger scale bc its definitely getting out of hand

just gonna add on -this points been made a few times but- i also agree there should be a way to perma-ban or just do something about users who have been warned/punished in the forum MANY times and continue to push and act out and be warned and punished. it’s exhausting to see just as someone who reads the forum regularly and i’m sure it’s worse for actual forum guardians.
Going off of that point, i’m gonna talk about the age limit. now i joined a few months before i turned 18 (18 now!) because for me i could not see an 18+ age limit, but i also dont have the best reading comprehension. i wanna point out how dangerous the now 16+ age limit is. there are multiple users in the forum who act/roleplay quite sexually, and have been warned many times, and if having a weird sexual reply makes me feel uncomfortable as a now adult, i think it’s downright dangerous if one of those users were to reply to a minor. (and i get users aren’t supposed to be sexual in the forum, but as i said, warnings and punishments seem to do nothing)
-also going to add, i’ve been wanting this since i joined but i WISH there was a way to change usernames without making a whole new account. i made this user as a placeholder and now i’m uncomfortable with it, but i don’t want to lose all my hard work
-the way that people get notified when you block them also feels so unsafe

those i asked explained it and gave me good explanations, but that’s something that should be outlined on the site when you go to register for the election, right? i mean genuinely it tells you nothing, which isn’t like. Very Helpful
