I've only participated in the Clown Couture one (with my previous account) but I did love my look
here's my favorite pxfc look of mine. i'd submitted a few times before (you can still find my fairy look on my profile under fantasy!), but i'm really proud of this one in particular because it won me august's bjd-themed pxfc, which was the first time i'd ever placed in a pxfc!
as far as other people's entries go, i've always loved honey kelly's flower fairy pxfc entry (i think their work with digitals is incredible here):

Your interpretation is much more interesting than what i was thinking of when making this thing.
The girl is wearing crinoline on the outside is meant to show her vulnerability -
this thing is normally hidden underneath layers of clothing.
The "caging" crinoline by itself was meant to represent the feeling of entrapment.
Cages are made for birds so people can observe them, but here it's reversed -
[the] girl is being kept in a "cage" and the birds are flying away towards a sky.
In symbolism both blue sky and a bird [are] often associated with freedom which the girl is denied.
The sky itself is put inside a frame like a painting.
Frames restrict the paintings in a sense, they are a line between the painting and reality...
but here it's reversed again, it's more like this frame restricts a girl from the sky and makes it more unreachable.
Light gentle colors contradict with [the] harsh bleak reality of this girl's life.
But [!] one of the birds is flying closer to the girl [with a flower!] which implies that there is still hope.
As you see, a lot of things you got right, but there is no such thing as clearly "right" or "wrong", in art especially (if you can call this art lol) because it's much more interesting what people can get out of it on their own, and your interpretation is so cool! again thank you so much for your wonderful message and comment, it really made my day :) <end messages>
