I usually try to reply to comments--when I get to them, and honestly it happens in fits and spurts in between long dry spells because my day job is pretty demanding--on the commenter's profile so they get the stats for it. But I feel like it's pretty clear that I'm real and active and generally trying to vote for debates and fights in pro-social ways that helps everybody, since I've been here a minute and the plus size and disabled threads are fairly active?
For me the red flags are the obvious bot things like the weird names, the hinky links in the profile, himbos with shirts but no pants or that odd layering that never gets any better, not like new player vibes like "I picked this incredibly fast because I'm here to drive up seo to my website" vibes. Or a lot of aggressive sexual roleplay in interactions in forums or on the profile or on messages. Though I had one newer person message me flirtatiously and I was like "Hey please do not" and they were cool about it and respected that and that was nice.
