Wow, Kiara Mae, I just wonder where you live or how long you have had diabetes for? I have had it for 10 years and live in England. Due to my medication it doesn't restrict what I can and can't eat and just have to adjust my insulin depending. I had a friend with cystic fibrosis and seeing her doing her medication I could never complain about mine after that. I just find it a bit of a pain sometimes, like if I am unwell or stressed.
If I could change one thing about myself it would be to change my voice. I really hate it. Its really loud and I have a lisp and a strong accent. I hate using the phone as I always end up having to repeat everything. I always get super embarrassed about it, especially if I have to talk in public. Last time I had to do a presentation I got so nervous I lost voice.

One of my best friends had CF too - Sadly we lost her at the end of 2014.

Her incredible strength and positivity through having that illness really put a lot of things into perspective for me. Still a huge inspiration to me every single day :(

Diabetics is something I had to get to know very up close and personal to as well.
I had to be trained especially for a 6 year girl that was in  my class.  1986.   This was not a common illness for this school to have special accommodations for, but I was the newest employee and I volunteered for the training, to certify the school in handling dietary requirements.   It still doesn't matter when you are dealing with such a young child.   She would obtain sweets from classmates.  Yet. what worried me more was when her blood sugar levels would drop.   I began stocking my own personal purse with candy just for her.  I'm not sure exactly what her medical condition was,  but  I had to maintain her sugar levels in a range around 80 to 100. while in my care.  It was so hard with 14 other students too. I also really didn't understand how different foods effected her.  Training in those days was very standard, and didn't meet individual needs.  I had a guide, and had to learn on my own with the little girl..

I failed once and saw the results......  I almost missed it, because she was punch-drunk and being a happy little girl. till she when into ' a state' I'm not sure how to describe. Lunacy? Yet nothing you would expect from a child.   How does an 18 year old girl feel when she let down her student?.   I was not ready for this, because it was just a field trip to a police station.   Yeah,  I let a girl go into a diabetic crash.  (LOW)  The police were not understanding as I screamed for a can of soda-pop,  and she was still OK to drink a soda.  As they were dispatching an Ambulance,  I gave her the soda someone unseen handed me.  By the time the ambulance arrived her blood sugars were normal.  They left, and the police patted me on the back,  but I seriously felt like shit as being hailed a hero and that was nothing like having to tell the mother what happened.  I think the mother had moments like that too, because she didn't scream at me but hugged me instead.
That seriously was a life lesson for me, I had to learn.  I kept that little girl very close to me for the next two years and even hosted my first staff training, because I was leaving for collage.  The other teachers had to have my experience to keep my student healthy.  It was also my first time I taught an adult class of such importance.  OK I was crying, during my presentation and that was not very professional  but I think they got the point.
It certainly was one of those defining moments of my life.  I can't help but appreciate the health of others now.  She could have died, because I was to rushed, to test her before entering a police station.

          Ironic isn't it. ;/

I'm 22 and if I could change something..well it would be a few things really, mainly an illness I suffer but don't really like to speak about. Apart from that more confidence, and maybe my height, want to slap my housemates often for short jokes.

24. And nothing.

I've battled with anorexia and depression for the entirety of my preteen/teen years. I was tall, I was a bit overweight when I was young, I had no sense of style... basically, I was made fun of frequently. I took all of it out on myself because, "They wouldn't all call me fat/ugly/too tall/ect. if the fault was on them. Clearly I was the one who was at fault.". I cut myself, my anorexia landed me in the hospital four times, I decided at 16 to date a guy who was emotionally abusive to me - and in my mind, I deserved it. I deserved the suicide watch. I deserved to be mocked by my friends. I deserved to be emotionally abused by my 'boyfriend'. I deserved to be called names. I deserved to be in and out of the hospital and completely miserable because I was, after all, ugly.

I remember trying to kill myself and it failing; I was laying on the hospital bed, staring up at the ceiling and feeling so guilty for making my parents go through that. The voice of Pete Wentz (of Fall Out Boy) playing in the back of my mind, "It's not just about keeping your head above water, it's about feeling alright and safe in your own skin.". And I realized at that moment that I needed a change. I needed to change for myself and I needed to change so I'd never put the people I love in that position again - or myself.

So it's been 8 years since I was on that hospital bed. Bad things have happened since. I've made it a point to be more selective about the relationships I have, the people that I date. Only in the last 4 years have I become comfortable being in my own head, by myself. It's a constant battle but somewhere along that journey I made it a point to engrain four ideals in my head:
1.) Life is never, fully, in your control. Everything is a chance, a chance that happens for a reason. And that makes it beautiful.
2.) I'm going to prove anyone who thought I wasn't worthy of happiness wrong. I'm going to enjoy this life and I'm going to enjoy it on my terms. I'm worthy of happiness.
3.) Opinions are like potatoes: there's an abundance of them and they're all cheap. Words can only hurt if you let them be significant enough.
4.) To error is human. No human is without flaw. And that makes us beautiful.

But I don't see myself as the victim I was or could have been. I'm a survivor. Flawed. Compassionate. Loving. Exploring. A survivor just like everyone else - because no two battles are alike.

And I wouldn't change any of it for the world.

10-20.
I'm about to be really on the surface/material with this, but anyways... I'd change either the size of my hips or the size of my arms. My hips were kinda big, at 42", which looked nice with my 24" inch waist, but I've had some fluctuations and my waist is about 27" and hips about 39". I still look okay, but my mother keeps telling me I've lost my shape and all. I agree, but this is because over the Summer, I began eating more healthy and drinking lemon water, which helped me shrink a lot, but it was mainly around my hip area. Then I gained over the holidays :( lol. I'm on this never ending quest to get abs, it's been my New Years Resolution for years.. and I'm constantly failing. If I had a couple more inches on my hips, I'd be exercising even more because I'd know I'll still have some when I'm done. I'll shrink my arms because compared to the rest of me, my arms are huge. It just stops me from wearing certain clothes, I want to feel free and comfortable in what I wear. This is what's bothering me right now, I could have gone deeper, but I really just want to get to my desired 'body goals', this really upsets me at times. It feels like a loss either way, if I eat more, I'd gain weight in unwanted places, but if I exercise, I'll continue to lose my hips.

I'm in the 10-20 bracket and if I could change one thing it would be my skin. I've suffered from acne since I was 11 and although it's practically gone now, I'm still super self conscious of it...
