i don't know if this counts or not, but it happened during the first day of Halloween. it was my first time experiencing the holiday in a foreign country since we don't have it from where we come from. i was taking night classes. it was a site to be hold. just like in Hollywood movies, i see students, teachers and even faculty members ,dressed up in funny clothing and characters from movies. ranging from simple outfits like a man dressed in a dollar store DIY fairy costume to a girl cosplayed as Alice from Alice madness game franchise. the teacher was wearing a lemon for a head. i had such a hard time trying to concentrate and not burst out laughing while he was teaching.
then came in the 30 minute lunch break. i used the opportunity to get out ad meet as many costumed freaks a i can. i admired each and every single dedication put through in designing these outlandish costumes. i even met the Alice cosplayer. and told her that i loved her outfit while we smiled ad laughed.
the lights where dim and flickering. the basement floor was totally empty. it looked so much different at night than it was during the busy hours of the days. i walked through the very long hallway all by myself. it doesn't seem to me that there was anyone else in the basement. which made me feel even more uneasy. the Halloween decorations didn't help elevate the dreadfulness. if anything it amplified it even more. this was art school after all. and the students made sure all the props and the decorations were scary and of high quality in terms of inducing fear.
i felt like i was the protagonist of a horror move. i sure hope i was the protagonist and not just some side character. cause we all know what happens to them. i had to stop thinking like this cause it wasn't doing me any good. i was getting worked up for nothing and elevating my heart beat unnecessarily. so, i quickened my passes, just to try to get this done as soon as possible. didn't want to linger around to long. finally, i saw the water station. it stood there all by itself behind a barred door. i took out my key card ad opened the door and quickly drank till my heart's content. as fast as i got in, as fast as i got out of the door. suddenly i heard shuffling noises. it was so vague but it started to grow louder and louder. i was gazing through the end of the pitch dark hallway. i saw a giant figure. shuffling as it walked with heavy steps. it seemed to be dragging something with it. the figure came closer into the light, it turned out to be a person with black over sized rain coat, dirty military pants and boots. he was completely obscured with a ski mask and a hoodie. he was dragging a huge black plastic sack of something. it looked quite heavy as he was dragging it with both arms. what made me stood cold for an entire minute was the trail it left behind...a "red liquid" was smearing on the ground every time he dragged that big sack. we both halted for a moment as we stared at each other for an entire solid 2 minutes. i tried to hold my ground without shaking in fear as he broke our gaze and started to slowly but cautiously walk beside me to the gate door. i immediately rushed outside the school. i called my mom to come pick me up using the "teacher got sick and classes was cancelled" excuse.the next evening as my mom drove me to the night school, we found out that the school was closed for the week. that there was some "leaking in the pipes". i immediately played what happened last night with the scary giant i encountered in the basement.... was it really a leaking? or something else...
