If you like Lynch then must watch beside Inland Empire are Mulholland drive, Lost highway and ofc Twin Peaks (both tv-show and movie). TP movie is made after the tv-show, but it is actually the story that precedes. No matter which order you pick it works fine :)

It's not really paranormal/ghosty, but loved the Sinner. And deffo recommend Haunting of Hill house/Bly Manor/Midnight Mass, all by the same director I think.

I think Inland Empire is his best work along with the third season of Twin Peaks and it's definitely a must watch if you've seen Lost Highway and Mulholland Dr cause in a way they are a trilogy with Inland Empire being the final one. I love everything from him except for Dune, Elephant Man and Straight Story.

The art of making video games has become lost to a lot of these companies, EA for example who just keeps reskinning their FIFA games and even downgrades them compared to the previous releases while still charging the same price for it, or Ubisoft who keeps clinging onto the same formula for every IP and keeps making games that have no innovation in their gameplay where the only difference in the games are the settings they're in, these games aren't being made for entertainment anymore but are being churned out for a quick profit because they know it WORKS, they know people will buy it
There are only a few triple A companies left that are making games with passion, and when they release a game the game is GOOD, unfortunately they do not make up a majority of the industry, or rather they get overshadowed by all the problems the industry is facing
I have not been excited for a popular IP release in ages due to these problems and the severe burnout on these IPs due to more frequent releases that don't really innovate on anything, I think the last big IP I was excited for was Animal Crossing: New Horizon, nowadays I mostly stick to indie companies, really looking forward to a few indie releases that are coming up
I'm glad you work in a good company but your experiences are not universal, I'm specifically talking about big corpos such as Ubisoft who's still in hot water for not addressing the sexual harassment that is happening in the company while continuously pushing for NFTs to be the big thing in gaming despite it not adding anything new and only being a cash grab for the company, ActiBlizz who is currently being sued for sexual harassment that got bad enough an employee took her own life because of it and actively hired a union-busting firm, Sony who's putting in microtransactions AFTER reviews for a game have rolled in and then getting the game patched to make grinding even more tedious so microtransactions look more appealing, EA who absolutely REFUSES to address the fact that lootboxes are gambling and is fighting tooth and nail in the courts because they don't want to take responsibility and have lootboxes considered gambling despite the fact that it is and that there have been a lot of studies already saying that people get addicted to buying lootboxes the same way people develop a gambling addiction and actually financially ruined people and places like the Netherlands and Belgium already banned lootboxes under the gambling law, CD Project Red that had their devs crunch ungodly amounts just to get Cyberpunk 2077 released ASAP instead of delaying it for the time it needed to actually be a functional game, Bethesda that released Fallout 76 so broken they were actually FORCED to give refunds to the people who bought the game, EA that released Battlefield 2042 in such a broken state it has been completely abandoned and not even cheaters are creating tools for it anymore because of the bugs interfering with the tools and the amount of players is too low to make it worth their time, and lets not even start on what Konami has become (spoiler: they've become a pachinko company)

I am a qualified senior game tester in a triple A company, so I'm speaking with some inside knowledge.
Indie companies ofc will have another prices, their company have 100 employees, on the other hand a triple A company has an average of 2000 (in my country, we are at least 2k only on the testing part, not even talking about the producing part of the company).
When you have to feed hundreds of mouths ofc you'll put more transactions available, don't get me wrong they reap more than they sow, but it is what it is.
Also, why so much hate on this. Microtransactions in big games EXPECIALLY on solo games are harmless. Why does affects you if I am buying a different set or mount, than what you have for free in game? I can afford, it I will do. If you can't, you enjoy the game as it is. Most of the microtransaction won't affect the game on a big scale. A DLC is an addition to the main game, if you want it and can afford its fine, if not...
If you're not working in a gaming company don't talk about the abusing and what happens inside, not all of them are bad and not in every country exists abusers.
I have 6 years here and I have more benefits than I can talk.
Also, before hating on a company think about the hard workers, because most of you hate the company for what you see or the fact that games are not free anymore. Think about us too, the people that stay 8h+ everyday and struggle to find and fix everything you guys complain about every time so we can make a good experience for you. Think about us too, that most of us don't enjoy games at home anymore because we are tired. I worked weekends and nights so a game can be more than enjoyable, because first I am a gamer as well, and second because I am proud of the finished product.
Also the crunch (overtime) in my company is not obligatory and we are payed double if we do it.
I started this job from passion, I still have a passion for it and I still love what I am doing. But I'm tired of only seeing hate towards this, I never saw anyone thanking us for giving them an amazing experience, something good to enjoy in their free time, alone or with friends.
Please be more understanding when you want to banter about something like this.

personally I'm sick of how games have stopped being released as... well full games. like acnh I do love the game of course but it felt very unfinished and the updates with content patches idk it left something to be desired for me. I would rather wait longer to get all of it from the start than have to wait around for updates like that if that makes sense.
also speaking of horror movies, I wached all the V/H/S movies recently with a friend and I loved them lol but not for the faint of heart
