I feel so pissed when people only care about the unborn child of pregnant people instead of checking if the person's okay. Recently I saw my whole family only talking about the unborn in front of the pregnant wife of my cousin and neglecting her entire existence because apparently the child is much more important than their mother. It fucking sucks and everyone should've been ashamed since she was clearly showing how she felt neglected in that context.
I get it, a new family member can be a very happy thing, but the mother still exists and is part of the family too. It shouldn't be hard to care about her as well. She's dealing with something she never dealt with before and is quite the experience and y'all don't even stop to ask if she's feeling okay, or if she needs help with something. You don't even ask her how's the experience so far, you only think about the possible personality of someone that doesn't quite exist yet. I fucking hate it.

She's well, her husband cares for her a lot and is helping her out as much as he can since he's staying at home as well (working and studying from home and all that). But still, I get extremely annoyed how my family treats her in reunions.
Last time I saw her, my younger cousin and I talked with her about other topics than pregnancy. It made her feel a bit better since she could talk about the changes she was planning on doing in her house and a few clothes she planned on buying after the birth. She's a really cool person, and very intelligent too. You can technically talk about anything with her AND YET my family doesn't do that. Awful
That's really awful! I am sure she appreciate your attitude. Pregnant women should be appreciated more than unborn child. After all, they are carrying that baby and without them there would be no baby. People are just so insensitive sometimes. Even doctors when have to pick between mother and baby because of some tough issue, their primary goal is to save the mother first, then the baby. And that's probably with a good reason.

yeah, pregnancy is a really touchy subject since the birth of a new life is exciting and the possibilities are nigh endless but disregarding the mother in that kind of way is just blatantly wrong, especially with the amount of labor and complications it takes to carry a pregnancy out. hope you and her have some enlightening conversations (that don't have to do with the baby)!
