Hi Dear Secvillians and Ximbos,
It’s that time of the month again, where we chat together in The Flutter! For those who don't know, The Flutter is Secville's monthly thread with a dedicated topic each month. Everyone, from Secville or not, is encouraged to participate!
Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and what a better time than now to think about love! Love is a beautiful feeling and experience that we have as humans. Love is also not exclusive to partners, but also to friends, family, pets, ourselves and other things! Aren’t we lucky to be able to feel love and experience it, receive it and give it? There are so many people to love and things to love!
At the same time, what happens when love is no longer? How do we deal with heartbreak, the process of knowing oneself and losing oneself? Healing, growing, moving on from something, somewhere, or someone we thought we loved? When someone leaves.. or when you must leave?
I would like to share an iconic love poem:
Pablo Neruda
XVII (I do not love you...)
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

I would like to invite you all to share your thoughts on love! What do you love? Who do you love? What lover changed your life? What’s your favorite food? Poem? Mathematic equation? What are some ways you show love? Perhaps you already know your love language..?
What a beautiful thing, to be human and to love.
Much love,
