Thought this might be a fun thread, if you don't know what a malaphor is: it is basically the combination of two idioms/phrases to create a new one that most of the time does not make sense or is a bit silly.

My favorites are "we'll burn that bridge once we cross it" / "I'll burn that bridge once I get to it" and "by any stretch of the means" I'd love to hear others, I'm especially interested in if this is a phenomenon that happens in other languages aside from English as I haven't heard any (I'm sure there are)

To be fair, idioms themselves can be quite silly. In Spanish, for example, we might say, "Ella no tiene pelos en la lengua.” If translated literally, it would mean: she doesn't have hair on her tongue!
Quite a silly thing to say in English.

There is the same saying in my language too and it means someone is speaking their mind quite openly. While it is usually considered as positive trait, not having a hair on the tongue is often used too when someone is plainly vulgar for example.
Speaking of hair, there's another one - Looking for a single string of hair in the egg. Ofc, it makes no sense at the first, but it means that someone is petty, meticulous (in a negative way), always looking for some flaw or mistake, seeing and seeking something wrong in someone/something which often seems as purposely.
