Tired of having anxiety. I have been struggling to eat normally for almost three years now. I went to a therapist and a counselor for help, and both didn't do anything. One told me to get over my trauma, which made me more upset (its easier said than done). I hate I randomly get anxiety attacks and can't control having to cry. I just want to eat and be normal again. I hate my bf has to see me like that because he tries to comfort me but the feelings of anxiety are overwhelming. I am glad I have people who are there for me.

xoxoHelloKtty, I am sorry to hear you didn't find those providers to be helpful.
If it provides any comfort, you are not alone. I have talked to over a dozen therapists & counselors. Most people I know with mental health challenges have to talk to several professionals before they find one that fits. 
I've had people oversimplify things by saying, "Just accept it & move on."  If I could just accept something, I wouldn't be in therapy, right? It may help to find out someone's approach in advance, such as over the phone when setting up an appointment.

It sounds like you might want specific coping skills instead. If you'd like, players can share what strategies work for them. Would you like to know things I do to cope with my anxiety?

Everyone's different but here are some ideas...

1. Using your senses to ground you. I use this if I have a nightmare or flashback. This may also help when you're having a panic attack. I was taught to name 3 things I see, 2 things I feel, and 1 thing I hear. However, I have also heard people name 3 of each of those senses or name things related to all 5 senses. 

2. Take a break. It's hard for me to break anxious thoughts without taking an actual break from whatever is triggering me. I know it might be difficult to take a long break at work, but even a trip to the bathroom can give me a moment alone. You don't have to actually use the toilet, if you don't want to. If your anxiety comes with physical symptoms, like feeling hot or sweaty, going to the bathroom or locker room can also allow you to temporarily cool off by adjusting clothing or patting yourself with a damp towel. 

3. Journal. I have mixed results with this. Sometimes, it can be helpful to write down what is making me anxious. It can be like venting to a friend. Other times, it can feel like writing about something is keeping me stuck thinking about that thing. You don't have to use a physical pen & paper. I sometimes type brief notes in my smartphone. I also have used my phone's voice recorder to vent. 

4. Use a weighted blanket or other physical comforts. Sometimes for me, anxiety isn't a particular thought or worry, but rather a physical sense of unease. At those times, it's good to find something to provide physical comfort. I personally like a weighted blanket. I also like to feel certain textures; I used to carry around a scrap of satin fabric because rubbing it was soothing. Heat can also be comforting to me, like taking a hot bath or using a heating pad. Some people find other physical sensations, like holding an ice pack or walking barefoot in the grass, comforting.

Things are getting better! My roommate this past summer (i am a college student) tried to commit in front of me. I saved her life. But it messed me up so bad that I forgot I had to sign a loan to stay in school 2 weeks afterwards. So I was asked to leave school until I can pay my balance. I was crushed. Was not looking forward to moving into my folks attic. But it has been better than expected! I have been able to get my mental health sorted.
