If the disagreement is over the necessity of protecting due process in a democratic republic, and your government was elected on a platform promising justice and equality… then yes, you should resign.
cherri also ran on a platform of not persecuting and bullying players based on their fashion, yet chris started a trial to specifically do that. why does chris banning trolls for using his name call for the PX's resignation, but not his insistence on a government that bullies its players?
once again chris always does whatever he wants, i dont think we need the PX resigning every time he does

You should have insisted on following due process as laid out in Katie’s post above and if Chris truly prevents you from doing that, you should resign with your integrity still intact.there are a few possible outcomes here, ones that we considered before we made the decision. either we do the trial and people vote guilty, or they vote not guilty. either way, sweetasnuts still wants them to have parody in their usernames. either way, the only way to do that is for their current accounts to be gone and to make new ones. or, alternatively, regardless of if the trial happens or not, we refuse to ban them. i dont know if sweetasnuts has ban powers, but the coders definitely do. so it would still happen anyway.

Craigslist-Stripper, you are only adding to my argument. Chris’ bullying is just another reason why you should have shown some backbone and used the most powerful tool at your disposal: the power to walk away. Your noble principles are worthless without the courage to defend them.

It was only an “open and shut” case because you arbitrarily decided to shut it without following the due process that would have allowed for a proper defense. Even if Chris overrules the senators’ vote, let him be the one to do it and let him face the consequences for undermining our democracy. Why do his dirty work for him? Especially when your government ran as a sensible alternative to Chris’ shenanigans.
You could have made a principled stand defending the rule of law and inspired the rest of us to rally behind your leadership. Instead, you ignored your own rules, blew an opportunity to use the senate for its stated purpose, and turned an easy victory into a huge unforced error just to appease a tyrant who doesn’t respect you. Was it worth it?
the rules do not say anything about impersonation just like they dont say anything about minors, because those are not matters of PB leadership, those are matters of the terms of service of the website run and owned by sweetasnuts/chris. those matters are not in our control. we give the same ultimatum (emigrate or be banned) to minors and they are not allowed due process because being under 18 is a breach of TOS. TOS has a section about usernames being subject to judgment. TOS has not been updated since the election as it still states that alts are not allowed so we are going in part off of sweetasnuts’ direction. given that the PB is technically employed by him, since he pays her 33% of the treasury, we do try our best to respect his ownership (within reason). and i think that is more helpful to not only us, but the game as a whole, than causing division over something as trivial as “some people have to remake their joke accounts”. we currently have multiple major things going on behind the scenes that are not worth sacrificing for that. so, yes, i do believe it was worth it.
