Honestly my biggest fear in life is getting top surgery/double mastectomy. Because on the one hand my chest makes me feel horribly dysphoric and has very bad connections to things that happened to me, so getting rid of them would make me very happy - but on the other hand surgery can go wrong and that scares me.

I'm so scared of this.

when this is what it will look like four years later (yes these are the same person)

look at that dude chillin'!

Okay so plastic surgery is almost always seen as vain, but I mean plastic or cosmetic surgery can also save someones life. It can make it easier on people. Its not all boob jobs and vanity projects and rich people. Cause I sure as hell ain't rich and I'm gonna have to pay out of pocket for my surgery! Its gonna take me a long time to pay for all of it. But if it works out it will definitely be a life changer for me and make me feel like /me/.

Remi your desire to  have cosmetic surgery isnt  "vanity"  it sounds more like  it goes  to the well being of you as a person. my desire  for  a  nose job on the other hand  was "vanity and in  the  grand scheme of  things not going   to  affect who  I  was as  a person or make  feel  like me  . after realizing  that the only reason I had  for wanting a  nose job was because I  hated my nostril size  ,I  kept the money in my  pocket. My nose fit my  face and wasn't over sized or  any thing  so  why spend the  3,000  U.S.  dollars         it  would have  cost at the time  to change something that already fit my face.I believe insurance companies  should cover more cosmetic  procedures  than they do .If   they want to make  sure   the surgery  is  a true life  changer for  the individual then fine send the person to  be  examined by  clinical  psychologists and social  workers  or what ever  else  is deemed as necessary  to  verify a persons  reasoning and  the  well   being  of the individual  mentally, emotionally, and  physically.

Remi it sounds like you'd be doing it for all of the right reasons. That picture of the guy looked like his scars healed up nicely. Mine are still purplish in color and they're under my boob. I think almost every plastic surgeon suggests you buy their scar cream. I though oh you just want me spending more money but now instead of having a bumpy raised scar it's flat and as smooth as the rest of the skin. So the scarring does heal if you put the creams on it :) Id show a picture but I don't want to be banned.

Have you tried using bio-oil? I have a tiny dermatofibroma on my foot (which was a blister on my foot from interning that just never healed properly and became a tiny lump of scar tissue). I only just started using bio-oil on it the other week, but can already see a huge difference in the appearance. It looks like it's disappearing too.

I've heard bio-oil doesn't do anything for scars by some sources and by others that its dangerous for you?? I have smelt it once though and it smells really strong to me. Very grandma smelling.

A lot of people recomend silicone based scar gels/creams like Kelo-cote.

Yours should heal just as good over time! (http://neutrois.me/2015/06/05/genderqueer-top-surgery-4-years/ this is where the guy posts his pictures, if you wanted to see how your scars might heal and how long)

Honestly tho, the idea scarring scares me a whole lot. But I figure if it doesn't heal well I could always get a tattoo to cover it maybe? who knows!

The stuff new  and expectant moms use on stretchmarks from pregnancy also works really well. I used that after having a total thyroidectomy in 2008 that left an angry red scar across my neck and 7 years later you would never know that my neck was ever surgically cut open almost from ear to ear.I have trouble finding the scar now but its there.if I had used the cream on my appendectomy scar I would have been better off. I can find that scar with ease 15 years after surgery. so the key seems to be use the cream its a worthwhile investment.

I've heard that it doesn't work for some people, but never that it was dangerous. Personally it's been something of a miracle product for me, and I also really like the smell, because it's got calendula in it (smells exactly like this great baby moisturiser I love)

I used pure Vitamin E oil.  It was perfect.  Not a single stretch mark remained for long.  Actually very few even formed.  Morning and night a thick coating of it, with sexual activity was my perfect pregnancy.

I'm ok about it but there're many plastic surgery extremely dangerous as changing the color of your eyes by reducing the melanin. That's crazy!!
