Random odd and weird question. You say your nails are sharp right, if you stopped working and they started to grow long would you keep them long or cut them would you want them a certain length or what. I know I always ask the weird and wacky questions.
My nails are deadly weapon's. For some reason just my daily activities, sharpen them. I really do nothing with them, except normal life. They never get very long ether. Just obtain the sharpness of razor-blades.
I wake up some night's, to find I slashed my own body......
An itch in the middle of the night has made my bed sheets, bloody.
I'm more careful when I'm awake, but asleep I should really wear sock's on my hands for safety reason's.
I use my hand's at work, and digging in dirt, with your hand's is like filing them down. Perfect for grabbing slippery, object's too.
claws..... I can puncture a cardboard box with just a grip of my finger's because the tip's of my finger's penetrate the thickest of cardboard. Sometime's it feels rather 'Ninja', when I can just use a single finger, like a knife.

Sorry I also like long nails and hearing about your sharp nails fascinates me like if I was around you I would so love to see how sharp they are by seeing you stab things with them.
