One of the most surprising thing's about earthlings, I've found to be, is their dioecious nature. They reproduce allogameously, rather than via reproductive cloning.
This has lead to humans developing a largely binary gender percepchion, with a relatively small but rapidly growing amount of abbreviating individuals, who are reaching more complex levels of thinking and moving away from the binaries.
It is natural, of course, that a species with two sexes would develop a binary gender perception first. Interestingly with this binary gender perception the species has developed some incredibly narrowminded societal norms, especially for the level of societal intelligence they have reached. It turns out that with multiple genders a phenomena known as "sexuality" has also developed. It refers to how humans of a certain gender are attracted to other genders. They also have asexuality! Nice to find something in common between our species.
Anyway, I have found that in human societies certain sexualities are valued more than others. Generally speaking, heterosexuality (humans interested in their opposite gender) is universally accepted. Homosexuality (humans interested in the same gender), varyingly is not. This is known as homophobia. Bisexuals and pansexuals (humans interested in multiple genders) have some unique challenges (biphobia, panphobia (distinction; bisexuals attracted to multiple genders, pansexuals attracted to all genders - alternatively in spite of gender)). Where homosexuality is not accepted mainly based on reproductive concerns (note to self - speculation. Assumption requires further research, possible problem; homophobia inherently irrational?), bis and pans are also questioned by their oppressed peers (based on loyalty? Interest in other gender than own seen as betrayal? A fear born out of limited numbers perhaps? Hurts community in the long term.)

Further research possibly impossible to complete due to apparent irrationality of subjects. Solution: get back to doing what you know best, throwing parties where and when you shouldn't.

Interesting read Helvetin. I wouldn't bother about people who are homophobes and stuff just ignore them they are just people you don't want to deal with. I mean if you want to it's up to you but I don't think I would want to hang around those people, unless they keep their opinions to themselves then I could hang around them sometimes I guess.

I don't get why some people hate gays so much like mind your own business and live your own life and let others live how they like like seriously why make others miserable just so you can be happy.
I actually just had a very interesting conversation with my father tonight about the subject of gay marriage. He said that he didn't care about the gay people involved if they were gay and wanted to get married, but he said the reason why he wasn't sure it was a good idea was because if they were allowed to claim government benefits afforded to two people united by marriage, that it would basically be open season on social security because, in his mind ANY two people could then get married and claim benefits. He didn't seem to understand that this has pretty much ALWAYS been the case, ANY man and ANY woman can get married for ANY reason and claim benefits, and somehow(lol) our country wasn't utterly decimated. But he couldn't quite wrap his mind around the idea that things really won't change too much by extending the same freedoms to gay couples.
