I originally found out about Bowie when I happened to read about the Ziggy Stardust influences on big pop culture hits, such as Lady Gaga's pokerface music video which quite clearly references Ziggy with the lightning pattern makeup. I loved the whole concept of taking music performance to the next level by not only telling a story with ir, but performing it as the character too. But I have equal adoration for later era Bowie and I support constantly developing as an artist, not letting yourself stagnate in the thing that worked out for you at first.
