I love Epithet Erased! I've been obsessed since day one, its one of my faves.
Anyways, Dan Vs, Sam and Max, Gabriels Dropout, Night In The Woods, and Happy Tree Friends are all thingz I was really into for a bit. All of the communities I've seen around them are all either incredibly tiny, unseen, or abandoned. They're all really good nonetheless, and they all have pretty similar humor to Epithet Erased.

i played a visual novel called better half by nemlei a while ago and it was so good like i loved the dark and sarcastic humour so much but i couldnt find anyone talking about it :/

i've been into a lot of niche things throughout my life lol. it sucks when they become ur special interest and barely anyone knows it!
i remember being into sym-bionic titan when i was like 10 or smth (22 now). no one i knew was watching it, and at that time i was only using the internet for like club penguin or something lmao. i revisited it back when i was... 17 i think? there was some discussion about it online i saw but didn't engage in, and again no one in irl i knew was watching it. sometimes i'd be into things that would seem niche because no one around me would be into it irl, but online, it was completely different. like currently i'm hyper-fixating on osomatsu-san, and i'm trying to get some ppl to watch it because it's funny and i think they'd like it, but all my friends live like super busy lives so i'm basically alone rn :sob:. on the other hand, there's a decently active community online, so i can actually see content involving my boys, something i'm not used to considering the actual more niche things i've hyper-focused on in the past.

I was a huge fan of Smite the MMORPG in middle school/early high school (22 now) and I remember trying my hardest to absorb all the content I could from it, but there wasn't any good fanart or fanfiction out there, so I made my own for my art class hahaha.
Also, this isn't niche at all, in fact it's an incredibly famous short story, but The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is an incredible piece of psychological horror that I think does a great job of amplifying what made regency era suspense/psych horror books like Rebecca or Jane Eyre so good, but in a bite-sized format and focused solely on the protagonist's inner turmoil. It's what I point to when I discuss the differences in stories made for men and for women, especially when stories are considered "romances" just because there is a relationship aspect to the story and the main character is a woman. Regardless, I try to use it as an arguing point but it's hard when no one knows what I'm talking about when I reference it! That and The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin. Highly recommend as it is a great example on the flaws of late-stage Capitalism; the few suffer greatly so the many don't have to experience great suffering. And I KNOW these aren't shows but man they are really short and really digestible great pieces of literature and social commentary. Highly highly recommend.
Also Baskets, the clown show by Zach Galifianakis. Louie Anderson plays one of my favorite female characters on television (which is insane considering he's a man playing a woman) but his portrayal of Zach's mother is so genuine and naturally funny without making fun of women. The joke isn't that its a man in a dress, the joke is that people do ridiculous things sometimes, all while keeping the character very grounded and human.
