On paper my beliefs are similar to Atheista's, but I really don't trust any government and believe it's essential for marginalized people (sex workers, trans women, black and brown people, disabled people, just to name a few examples) to have access to guns to defend themselves. My politics align with Marxism, and I do not downplay the role rioting and violence have played in people's movements throughout history. Even the most liberal/socialist governments enact horrific violence against those most vulnerable in societies, and these people should not have trouble accessing protection and claiming their autonomy.Toxic liberal ideology will have people thinking that only people in positions of authority are responsible enough to control guns, but I think it's obvious that in every society it is the authorities who abuse this power on a systemic level that trumps any individual's capacity for violence.

It's confusing to me why all the other states who are more liberal than us are against guns. That's often how it is irl, specifically in the United States. That being said I am just fixating on this particular issue, and a lot can be said as to why I would overlook this state's stance on abortion and death penalty simply because I want to theoretically be able to have a gun lol. I live in California irl and it's a huge culture shock whenever I go Arizona, the state over which is super conservative and pro gun. The men there seem more violent and aggressive just based off the interactions I've had with them, and in general it is a hostile environment for women, compared to Cali at least. People there are also extremely outwardly racist and transphobic and homophobic, and I don't feel super safe there. I love California, and I guess I'm just living out my conservative anti government fantasy online hahaha. Capitalism is a bitch truly, you cant win no matter what. I'm curious as to how other people's politics are and why y'all picked Reasonopia over all the others. also do any of you live in countries that are more socially liberal that also embrace guns?

I honestly whole heartedly agree with your stance on the government not being the only ones being able to control who can’t have guns. Never trust any authority never will. I think it’s very important for minority groups to be able to have access to guns in order to protect themselves. I don’t think it’s progressive at all how the left constantly is anti gun. We need insurance to protect ourselves! One reason is I picked reasonopia ultimately because I agree with most of the views listed on there especially the pro gun and anti abortion stance except the pro death penalty part. I live in Israel where it is extremely difficult to get a gun and I agree with gun control to an extent but I hate how difficult it is for people who actually need guns to get one here.

I really agree with your first paragraph and often revisit my stance on gun control. So many communist revolutions armed their working class and rarely called for gun control - I cannot ignore that. But then I think within an American context, pro-gun access, while it does arm our marginalized and vulnerable populations, will often leave the vulnerable at the hands of violent policing after the gun goes off. Even if the person holding the gun was 'in the right,' if it's a brown or black person holding the weapon more times than not they're unjustly punished and thrown into the prison system. Though, not sure if that scenario is strong enough to override overall access to self defense tools. Am really interested to hear responses to this! I am actually really terrified of guns (like to the point where I get anxious if someone in a theatrical performance has a prop gun) but I realize a total eradication of guns is impossible, so I try to reason the best I can when it comes to the topic.

this is why i nearly picked this one before going with secville based on the fact that i just couldn’t vibe with mandatory boob surgery. sacrificing one freedom in the name of bodily autonomy is a bummer but it must be done

i am a big believer in the idea that the state functions similarly to a mob. there’s a really good essay with a title i unfortunately forgot about how the state monopoly on violence means it functions basically in the same way an organized crime syndicate would, and should be treated with a similar level of suspicion. allowing the state to stop its citizenry from arming itself is a misstep

anyway i really love shooting and i wish more girls were into it. it’s dangerous to be a woman, especially a woman of color, and you gotta have tools to keep yourself safe!

By the way, I am a native Californian & I think that our gun laws are totally tooooooo strich!!!

agree that guns are an important tool of communist revolution but chose atheista anyway because reasonopia sounded lame (sorry, reminded me of right-winger's obsession with 'reason' and 'logic' that makes me want to puke). was really surprised when i didnt see an left-wing anarchist state, hope the devs don't think all leftists are pacifists!

Because Atheista is literally the communist state here. And rizhomaticjas joined Atheista(?) despite being pro-gun I assume. Ergo, the point of mentioning a communist revolution was to express why rizho is pro-gun, and their disappointed at Bimboland's lack of a pro-gun communist state.

And communist revolutions are cool, haven't you heard?

Anyway I came here to say that everyone except the US should have guns, that's my hot take. I mean, you guys don't seem to be using them to overthrow the shitty capitalist government with them so like. Why even have them? Reasonopia can keep them though, pretty sure Bimboland isn't the US.

Please try to remember that I grew up when being a communist was a VERY BAD thing, so all of comments about communism are kind of uncomfortable! Contrary to popular beliefs, our government is NOT a Capitalist government, but a Democratic government!, I want my guns for hunting, target practice & home defence.
