Have you ever had an idea for an amazing shop item, something detailed and extravagant and over-the-top, but don’t know if it would be accepted, don’t feel comfortable with your art skills, or feel intimidated by making something that would fit just right on the base and up to shop standards? Don’t worry—all you need is a creative mind and a dream!
With the help of our amazing designers and the other shop workers, this month I am bringing you a contest that’s never been done before… a fashion design contest!
You can submit in four categories: Bimbo, Himbo, Divine, and Accessories. Feel free to submit to all four, but you can only win in one, so keep that in mind!
Category Info
☆ Bimbo, Himbo, and Divine entries should be some kind of detailed item covering most of the body or a set of matching items. You might create a dress, a blouse/jacket/pants combo, etc. and accessories can be included in this. If you’d like just your accessory items from an outfit to be considered for the accessory category as well (in case the full outfit doesn’t win but one of the accessories could), please specify this!
☆ Accessory category entries should be some kind of larger accessory item like a bag category item (so props of any kind), a large necklace, a large hair clip item, a hat, a unique belt, or something else. Just make sure it’s inspired, creative, never-seen-before, and over the top!
☆ Make sure to say what category each of your submissions are meant to fit into.
☆ Divine items are going to be made for the Divine body skin by Antoinette Fah, so keep that in mind. Your sketches or concept art should be drawn or created to work for this skin (a plus-size skin). If your design would work on both Bimbo and Divine and you'd like to be considered for both categories, feel free to say that.
Rules
☆All entries must either provide reference images for color and texture or describe this in detail. A mixture of visual references and written description is even better!
☆ Use of AI is not allowed under any circumstances, whether visual or written.
☆ Plagiarism is not acceptable and will disqualify you from all of my future shop contests and from submitting designs to the shop as a designer if you ever wish to in the future. This isn’t referring to sharing credited images as part of your references or using parts of other images as part of a collage—plagiarism would be taking the entire work of another creator and claiming it is your own. Don't worry, you won't do this by accident.
☆ Provide image sources for any materials used for references, collages, or moodboards if the images are not royalty free (see tips below for free images that don't require credit)
☆ No entries that contain material from a brand or franchise, this should be original work. This means no cosplay/costume items from preexisting media.
What You Might Submit
☆ A sketch or art piece of any quality or drawing skill—digital and traditional are both fine! Any materials are okay! Draw with crayons if you like, haha.
☆ A collage mashing together images to create a vision of an outfit. You could use texture images cut into the silhouette shape of the design—for example, a leather texture image cut into the shape of a bodice, a velvet image cut to be a hat or the skirt of a dress, etc!!
☆ A detailed written description of the design combined with references for texture, color, silhouette, the type of clothing item you’re describing, etc!
☆ A moodboard with image titles like “coat silhouette,” “coat texture,” “color scheme,” etc!
☆ Something else (DM me to ask if it’s okay first)
