I remember going on a fieldtrip in middle school and some museum guide telling us about the birthstones. I found out mine was emerald and I was super sad because I don't like the color green.

All these years later I still wish I could have been born in June or October to have some pretty pink stones instead <3

my birthday is December 19th. according to the pages you linked i have 5 different birthstones, but they're all blue: blue zircon, blue topaz, tanzanite (traditional) and turquoise, lapis lazuli (modern). from what i've read it seems like they really match my personality! also i do love blue, i have blue eyes and i often dress in blue. i mean, look how good i look in blue:

i don't usually wear jewelry with gemstones, but i really like my birthstones! maybe i should start incorporating them in my outfits...

very fun idea!! im born july 30th (go leos RAHHH) so my birthstone is a ruby, both in the traditional and modern categories :^)
ive never worn rubies, its not really my color (i look much better in tomato red or burnt orange than burgundy/wine red) but i didnt know birthstones had that kind of symbolism. i was almost an august baby so i always preferred sardonyx. it also matches w all my other brown rocks lol, i have a lot of tiger/ox eye and amber jewelry.

So I knew that some months had multiple birthstones, but I didn't know about there being a list split by traditional and modern. My birthstone is an amethyst! I'm a February babe, Aquarius through and through <3 I've always loved my birthstone. My mom loved it a lot too because purple's her favorite color. I kind of used to covet hers (aquamarine) though because the color was so pretty! When I was younger, I went on a family trip to Washington DC, and got a really cool amethyst crystal from the Smithsonian Museum! But aside from that I've never owned any real amethyst jewelry before. I would like to, though, even if just for special occasions. I like that the jewelry's symbolism can represent healing, I think that's another reason why I'd like to own jewelry with it, because I do believe a little bit in crystals having a little bit of magic ^^;;

A fun fact! Emeralds are part of the Beryls family that also includes rubies and sapphires and many more. Put it simply, theyre all Beryls but colored differently! *ok I realized later bee also linked sources which might let y’all know this fact. I still leave it here because gems are one of my interests.

As for my bstone, I’m an opal according to an event I went to that’s all about gems! I also got a small collection of gemstones because I was obsessed with collecting them at one point, but I’ve slowed down since and haven’t gotten new ones in years. I’m still interested in gems, though not because of beliefs or anything related to that, more interested in how theyre formed, where theyre located, mining, world records etc. I collect them because theyre cool to look at

when i first read this post my brain melted and i thought of like zodiac signs which reminded me of my nov 2021 pbfc outfit hehe

but my birthstone is a pearl. which has always made me feel like oh. why is everyone else like a gemstone. like made in the earth. then i realized i am so unique bc my birthstone is literally made in a clam. and that clam was probably cool as fuck
