This time we are celebrating not one but TWO interesting international and world wide holidays that take place on 1st October.
International Coffee Day
Attention, coffee enthusiasts! The time has come to raise your mugs in unison as International Coffee Day graces us on October 1st. This is the ultimate day to indulge in and honor the rich, aromatic beverage that fuels our days and warms our hearts. Whether you prefer your coffee bold and black, sweet and creamy, or spiced and frothy, this day is dedicated to celebrating the diverse ways coffee is enjoyed across the globe.International Coffee Day offers the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow coffee lovers worldwide, exchange your favorite brews, and explore the fascinating cultures that revolve around this beloved drink. So, let’s come together, share our passion, and toast to the magic of coffee!
The first International Coffee Day was on October 1, 2015. Coffee lovers, roasters, and cafés use this day to promote fair practices and recognize the hard work of the farmers who produce and process coffee from across the world.
World Vegetarian Day
World Vegetarian Day is commemorated every year on October 1st. Around 10% of the world's population is vegetarian, and more people are making changes in their lifestyles to be more sustainable and healthy and eat less meat.October 1st, World Vegetarian Day, is also the first day of Vegetarian Awareness Month, which ends with World Vegan Day on November 1st.
World Vegetarian Day was founded in 1977 by the North American Vegetarian Society, with the intent to raise awareness about the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle among non-vegetarians.
A year later, in 1978, the International Vegetarian Union voiced its support for the observance and endorsed it. Vegetarianism has several health, economic, ethical, and environmental benefits, and this day aims to promote them around the globe and encourage more people to lower their meat consumption.
