Nope, sorry but I can't agree with you on this one. It can absolutely be harmful when done wrong and/or in the extreme, but there are so many people that need the routine and the stability that a diet can provide. It's just all about moderation(the diet, and the food). However, what I CAN totally agree with you on is the fasting and no carb shit. The human body requires carbs to function normally, same with fats and sugars. But the average person usually takes in too many of them, and that's where the problems start.
I guess for me, what it comes down to is that everyone has different needs, and if sticking to a diet regiment works well for them and they feel healthy, more power to them. If not however, no one should feel FORCED to diet just because of something like societal expectations or the fashion industry or whatever.

By the way, when I talk about "dieting" I don't mean having an eating routine or eating more of x because certain vitamins are down as prescribed by a doctor, I actually mean trying to force people to be miserable because being fat is sinful and undesirable. People use health as a means of guilting people into being unhappy with how they are when, oftentimes, it's just their body the way it is. I'm not talking about people who can't walk because of disordered eating (yes, eating too much to the point it harms you also is a form of disordered eating guys), I'm talking about people literally not feeding their children properly simply because "they look fat". I'm talking about my aunt encouraging her kid to eat more than she could deal with to talk about how she ate a lot better than me and then forcing diets on the kid because she did not want a fat kid, and later on, forcing her to restrict her whole diet and go hungry at times (on top of doing sports pretty much all the time so she'd "lose the extra fat").
I'm not talking about the people who manage their dietary needs in a way that makes them happy. I'm talking about an industry that can literally kill and harm people just for a few extra bucks on their pockets.

Yeah, that makes sense to me when you elaborate. It sounds like you're really passionate about this stuff and getting the word out :)
I think that a lot of different things come to mind when one uses the term "diet" and I presume that it also can vary greatly from country to country, so I'm glad you made things more clear, since I read some others posts from you and was actually a bit confused on where you were coming from with the issue.
Personally, I've noticed all of the women on my dad's side of the family seem to take after his mother, who was rather short and plump. We're all pretty damn healthy aside from gall bladder issues and some breast cancer, it just seems that the weight sticks regardless of diet or environment, so we live with it and are happy enough. On the other side of the coin, all the men on my dads family take after his dad: tall, dark, and skinny(and not so mysterious!) lmao
