My sexuality and gender continue to confuse me... i know I like going by he/him, but i might be nonbinary rather than a trans man? And I think I'm Pandemi, but even that I'm not sure of... I question whether or not I'm actually attracted to men, or just the idea of men... like fictional men

Oh Boy.
I've been in the community since i was 13 and I still haven't figured it out, so hopefully anyone reading this won't feel bad about not getting there immediately either if that's what they're dealing with. I remember the MOMENT after I came out to my sister I regretted it, and it gave me mad imposter syndrome for months. It got a little worse after I came out to the last person on my list, my mom, and after I got my name change... But it started to taper off after a few months, and I think it was just because I was getting used to my new name instead of the one I had been called all my life.
Romance, though? Fuck dude, I still don't know how romance works. Gender I can just choose to turn into a game because it's all about me and how I deal with it, and that's what I find most comfortable and true to myself, but other people have expectations about how I should interact with them romantically or platonically that I just can't wrap my head around. My friendships are very strong and my relationships are very weak, kind of like I can't tell the difference between romantic and platonic love. I love romance like... ideally, especially in fiction- really relating to what Bun_bunz said about only ever liking fictional men- but in practice the idea of it makes me so uncomfortable?
That goes for sex as well on the asexuality side of things, but that's so much easier to get a grasp on than romance.
Everyone kind of knows what sexual attraction is supposed to be like- just "hey you look real hot, I kinda wanna sleep with you", right? But romance is just... It's so abstract, it makes absolutely NO sense to me, so I can't tell who I am or am not attracted to in that fashion. That's why i'm so loose with the aromantic label- yeah, it fits, but how am I supposed to know if I lack something I cannot grasp? Is that proof that I don't get it, or do I just... not get it? and if I did, would I still be aromantic? Does it even matter? I don't think so, but it's still something I think about a lot.

It's just easiest and most comfortable for me to say I'm a bi woman. No doubts on my sexuality. Gender gets kinda genderqueer though, but those are feelings I keep to myself for simplicity-sake. I can usually appease that inner man in me by dressing like a "stud" when it starts to bother me.

I question whether or not I'm actually attracted to men, or just the idea of men... like fictional mentbh speaking from experience, it'll take a LOT a lot of headache away if you stop thinking about what specific labels apply to you and instead focus on what makes you happy in the moment. i made myself sick flipflopping between bi and lesbian for years before i decided to spend a year Not Giving A Shit and just liking whatever i liked. and same thing with my gender! now im very confident in my label as a nonbinary lesbian but it was that year of not caring and not labeling that helped me actually get here. tldr: dont worry about it babe just do what feels good
