I don't understand how this is true? The PBFC theme suggestions thread explicitly has rules about what themes are allowed, and therefore by association there are rules about what entries are allowed in the PBFC. This may just be me being autistic and sometimes finding it difficult to understand the way set "rules" can change in differing contexts, but I don't get why outfits that fit the topics being discussed in this thread so far (I.E. ones that break the cultural appropriation and/or discriminatory rules of PBFC themes) are allowed so long as they aren't PBFC entries. I also don't understand why there's no system of entries being disqualified from the PBFC, given that a domestic violence themed outfit in February's PBFC was not just breaking the theme rules, but triggering to a number of abuse victims who were forced to see it, in some cases repeatedly, during the voting process.

Personaly i DO believe in any case, there still is some monitoring on looks to be done, otherwise we'd also fall on the slippery slopes of allowing many distateful and downright unnacceptable things (ie racial caricatures, looks inciting violence against certain groups etc...), and that is also another direction that is just not desirable for the site. 

On the recent issues, I do believe the theme aforementioned in the thread was potentially distateful. The "runaway" aesthetic could have had acceptable portrayals, but given the reality of homelessness, and the trauma it implies, it could also easely fall in poor taste territory.
Homelessness is a very traumatic experience, even moreso im thinking homeless women, we don't even need to go into details, just look at stats of assault and violence (physical, mental and sexual) they go through. Romanticising and even sexualising it is not very appropriate in my opinion. I don't think that theme is unsalvageable but i feel people tend to not look at the bigger picture, here, that there may be many players on this game who went through or currently go through homelessness and use this site as an fun little escape, the same way we all do, and who'd be put right back into the hell that is that situation seeing that theme everywhere for a month.

The same thing happened with the bloody valentine's theme, and while homelessness and domestic violence are two very different things, so i'm not going to assume people saw the criticisms raised then and chose to ignore it, but possibly just didnt see the similar issues in the two, both those themes are similar in the way they can carry very harmful portrayals and stereotypes that are very triggering to people, while it could be avoided by moderating the looks to ensure they don't cross the fine line of upsetting.

My point may not be very clear, I didnt get time to proofread and i am speaking a bit out of emotion there, but I believe, in the quite centrist view of bimboland, there is a way to make 'people can make looks as they please' and 'no one gets hurt" coexist, the way the universal declaration of human rights states that everyone is granted the same rights, but those only apply as long as they dont infer on other's. one's right to dress their avatar should not infer on another player's right to play comfortably without going through trauma

Actually I’d really like to be able to spoiler outfits lol like I like making gore looks but I don’t want to potentially trigger someone+I’d like to spoiler other outfits just so people don’t see something they don’t want to. I do agree the theme is kinda distasteful though. Honestly it doesn’t really seem a fun theme and I would suggest a theme but I logged on too late lol. 

Sorry if it’s been brought up already but I’ve seen outfits based on domestic violence and I’ve tried reporting them as it is triggering but nothing really happened to that... it’s bad to assume that everyone on here is neurotypical and able to view content based on something as triggering as that so I don’t really understand why they weren’t removed. We can’t have a safe community if certain people are constantly ignored, even if it’s something as “small as an outfit.” Something small to you can possibly cause someone to harm themself.

^100% this. We have moderation on the forums, & rules saying that racism / other bigotry shouldnt be allowed....but if these same rules were applied to ppl’s looks, it’d suddenly be a “slippery slope” to full censorship? what?

(tho i guess on this site, moderation literally only happens in the forums — like you cant swear or be sexually explicit in here, but you can have a username thats literally just swears & terms for genitalia strung together lmao. Im not saying this double standard is a good thing....just that it do be like that)

the standards for Miss Bimbo back in the day was heavily monitored till we moved away from our Russian? Cousin website and began to allow more things that weren’t PC.

the reason for this was the website (as I remember it being)
was to make fun of the extremes some people go to when it comes to being a big A lister Socialist.


It was a place to poke fun at and have fun while doing it.

Has it gone too far while trying to maintain social justice - yes it has. It’s a very slippery slope.

I was so shocked that not only can the website have nipples but cow udders!! I’ve been absent from the website for a few years and the added outfits shock me.

however on some level I enjoy the gore and horror elements.

but one thing is clear - we can’t have both!

I love the blood and gore as I’m a fan of horror films but I’m also very much against DV and my heart goes out to it’s victims and agree some images can be triggering.

So we have two solutions.
ignore the traumatised to make bold and large statements.

or remove and monitor it.

warnings only go so far.

youtubers always use warnings on their videos but I’ve seen many banned because of too many complaints.

the domestic violence/human trafficking outfits (because yes there have been multiple) are the main reason why i support some kind of outfit moderation. i find them really, really uncomfortable to look at and frankly inappropriate for an environment like this where 99% of the content is supposed to be lighthearted and fun, which is why to me those outfits just read like a cruel joke, even if thats not what the people making them intended.

i think it's unnecessary for moderators to actively check profiles and outfits but there should be an avenue to report outfits people come across

I used the profile report function since I figured they’ll be looking at the profile in order to see the outfit. I don’t think it’s the fact that moderation is needed—logically yes we do need moderation, however I think what’s important is that they ignored my report altogether. The outfit I reported is still up I believe. I did not receive any sort of message at least saying “we cannot do anything about this.” Literally nothing. They just ignored someone who witnessed something triggering. So if we’re going to get some moderation, which I do heavily agree that we need, we should at least also get more caring moderation. I think it’s been made clear that not a lot of people in power really care about people like myself who have suffered things and have to deal with seeing them even on a game like this. It’s painful, especially when it’s discarded because “the world doesn’t revolve around you” or “it’s not that deep.” To me, it is, and I promise that there are others too. They’re just more afraid to speak up—understandably so too.

and the Kardashians were just coming to tv.

Nipples are a natural thing I dont see what is wrong with that.. but I do think that if we know our outfits may trigger someone we should be able to add a TW (trigger warning)
