I know this is not shop related, but hear me out, please.

I would like to apologize for what I said about a day ago. I made two posts, one regarding some mismatched hairstyles and one regarding the items that currently cost 1B$. I worded both of those posts in a way that was abrasive, arrogant, presumptuous, dismissive and condescending. I followed those up in a similarly passive-aggressive manner.

I could say that I was having a bad day. I could say that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected me and made my life difficult. I could blame a number of different problems that I deal with daily. But I have no excuse for my behaviour and I do not wish to hide behind one. I am not too proud to admit when I am wrong and I was in full control of my faculties throughout the whole affair so I remember everything very well. I am sorry for what I said and I am sorry for how I worded it. Moreover, I am sorry for continuing to irritate and antagonize after being given an answer. I am sorry for causing the shop workers (in alphabetical order; Cum_Dumpster, LillyAnn, Pixieee, Railophone and Xtina_723) a whole lot of heartache. I have nothing else to offer but my regret and apologies.

I will not delete the posts I made. I do not believe in trying to cover up my mistakes. I would rather have them displayed as a testament to my failure and endeavor to overcome that failure through my other actions.

In continuation I would like to offer specific shop workers a more detailed apology.

Cum_Dumpster, my blanket statements besmirched your good name and tarnished your reputation. I have caused you unnecessary extra work and I am sorry.

LillyAnn, this is at least the third time I am doing this. I am sorry for yet again lashing out against you. I am sorry for wording my sentences to annoy and upset you. I am sorry for desparately trying to poke holes in your explanations and questioning your abilities as far as image editing and manipulation goes. I am sorry for my misinformed and poorly worded statement about some of the shop workers getting paid fairly regularly.

Pixieee, like with Cum_Dumpster, I have not done you any favours with my posts. I am sorry for the things I said and for causing you more pain in an already testing time in your life.

Railophone, I am sorry for assuming you were still getting paid in diamonds for the work you do in the shops. I was aware that you were on a temporary leave of absence and it was wrong of me to assume you had greed on your agenda, especially since you have never even remotely shown any inclinations towards that. I am also sorry for all the discomfort I have caused you with my actions the last day.

Xtina_723, I am sorry for my insensitive statement about you getting paid. As I have said it was based on faulty information. However, that does not excuse it. I am sorry for implying and assuming that you were responsible for the true black hairstyle recolors. I am sorry for what you are going through right now and for further adding to that suffering. Heaven knows you did not need it. More than anything else though, I am sorry for forcing you to bare your private life for the sole purpose of defending your honor in a public forum. I have robbed you of your privacy and I can never atone for that.

To continue, I would like to delve further off-topic for a short moment and beg all of you to please, please show the forum guardians some compassion. We may not upload items, fix existing items or recolor them. In fact, you are much more likely to be forced to come into contact with us when we move, edit or delete your post. But that does not mean we are bad people. We have all of us – myself, Ulvhild, Sandi Lut (who has already quit his job as a forum guardian) and Vita Brevis – only ever sought to protect the player base from abuse in the forums and to ensure a healthy, fun and safe environment for discussion. I know my actions yesterday do not reflect this and I do not use this as an excuse for what I did (more on that after this), but I feel someone has to shed some light on this matter.

it is genuinely hurtful to receive abuse, insults and ignorance when we do nothing more than enforce the rules that we all agreed to follow. And while a lot of people respond positively, we still get a lot more negative feedback than the shop workers who, from my point of view, never receive anything but praise and only have to deal with one player’s persistent requests. I am not saying the last sentence is a fact, I am merely stating what I see and how I interpret it and how it makes me feel - it makes me feel cheated, jealous it has driven me to the point of desperation. I find myself questioning my decision to be a forum guardian almost every week. Having spent extra time and effort researching all the different kinds of discrimination and hate speech in the world and thanks to feedback from some members of the community we now felt more ready and confident than ever before to tackle problems that come up in the forum in an un-intrusive way. But nothing we do matters and we are doomed to always be “those damned annoying FGs”.

A while ago we (the whole forum guardian collective) even had to leave the communal discord dedicated to all the volunteers that work for Bimboland because we made their members feel unsafe and uncomfortable, as they put it (it has been a while so do not quote me on that directly please). I cannot speak for the rest of the forum guardians but despite trying to brush it off it hurt. To me it felt like being betrayed by a coworker and friend. I know we’re not your best friends. But when a shop worker makes a mistake, they can easily fix it, site lag permitting – reposition the item here or there and if there had been a critical error just replace the image with a new one. At worst there is one more redundant item in the shops. When we make a mistake – and we do, often, trust me – the resulting feedback is in some cases explosive and very negative. Please, consider the forum guardians’ feelings before you retort with something snappy and hurtful. We have feelings too.

This post has gotten quite long already and I apologize for derailing the thread so much. I know that, having read this far, there might be at least a small doubt in your minds as to the authenticity and truthfulness of my apology. After all, words are easy to come by and carry little meaning. Therefore, I will, after posting this, immediately send Kimsim my message of resignation as a forum guardian. This will enable me for blocking from anyone I might have wronged during my time as a forum guardian. Should the next Prime Bimbo see fit to take me back once their term starts, I will accept, with my hope being that by then I will have vindicated myself. Despite everything I do enjoy moderating the forums.
