Okay, finally I'm here to say something about senatorship. I was supposed to write here earlier but I was too busy to do that. I have been a senator for a long time, maybe several years all together. I also have used money to buy diamonds during crazes and State Wars to boost my stats and make my life easier overall as I'm very bad at saving. At the moment I have canceled my senatorship but I will probably renew it someday in the future.
In my opinion the current senatorship is not expensive, it gives nice perks for it's price. What bothers me about it is that you are able to buy almost anything that senatorship offers with diamonds, so current senatorship doesn't offer anything super exclusive except showing your full visitor list and recently online.
I get that the game shouldn't be "pay to win" but lack of senator exclusive options can make the senatorship bit pointless, unless you play the game very actively (for example use all your votes, minigames, reactions... on daily/weekly basis). That's why I have canceled it few times in the past, I just don't necessarily need it, it cant offer me anything I can't get with diamonds. It sure makes the game play much more comfortable, for example not having to put your bimbo to work every 4 hours, otherwise, for a lazy gamer like me, it don't benefit me too much as I don't often use even 70 votes a day, or even less, give reactions or play minigames. Everyone can purchase all available artifact slots and enough outfit slots with diamonds, so even here, senatorship can't offer anything exclusive. Instead of doing lots of game activities, I spend my time creating looks or following forums, so maybe a bit different type of senatorship would benefit me more, and I'd be even willing to pay for it. Maybe there could be different types of senatorships with different prices, as I think Pollyx suggested.
I liked the idea of senator only clothing, which would definitely interest me, and it worked really well in the old game as well. Also 2x sex appeal and B$ for working was an interesting idea and would be a total game changer especially for those who are at the beginning of the game and those who are very high level where making progress is extremely slow. During crazes, senators would be invincible. Of course, we would probably see only senators' place on top 10 listings, but is it necessarily a bad thing? It's senators who keep the game running, not good intentions and holy spirit. Maybe they do deserve their place in leaderboards spotlights.
Even though you said that not supporting the current government in power is not relevant answer for not paying senatorship, for some people it is, even though the perks would be there in the future too. For me buying senatorship is also a form of support, especially when you follow the politics on the game (not everyone does so this doesn't apply to everyone). I don't see point in supporting government that has people who have promoted against paying and still don't seem to support the game and pb by paying senatorship themselves. It shouldn't work one way only. This is just my opinion and you are free to have yours.
Over the years number of senators have remained around 100 and this number includes dead accounts and people with artifacts. I wish senate was more active, currently not many senators seem to be too interested in posting there even though they are the ones who can make the difference by taking parts in polls etc. I think the only solution to this is to get more senators and/or create new ways to engage people in the conversatios.
Regarding aggressive advertising,
Pink House members are looked up to, especially new players tend to show interest towards them, so it would look good if government members promoted senatorship (normally, not necessarily aggressively) or were senators and engaged the conversations in the senate.

I agree with everything you said, I really hope we can get the senator perks we've been advocating for, I feel like it will significantly improve the XL experience even if not much else is changed around the site, it would make me more willing to promote and buy it myself since I feel like it would actually be worth it
^^ what plush said. as it currently stands we don’t think that the gameplay experience is different enough between senators and regular players to justify the purchase for most people, but we also don’t want the game to be excessively skewed in favor of senators so that it is impossible to get a full gameplay experience without purchasing one. that is the balance we want to strike and this survey will help with that :^]
in terms of advertising, we were hesitant about aggressively advertising for a product that we personally did not believe was worth the price, because that essentially felt like lying. if changes are made i’d be more than happy to share my opinion that senatorship is fun and worth it.
