I've been out as bi for about 5 years and although the vast majority of people in my school and area were supportive it was such a shock when i traveled further in the country and saw so much casual homophobia it really opened my eyes to how much of a problem it is even in a country that would be generally be considered relatively safe for members of the lgbt community

Backstory
in grade 12 i was hanging out with my ex best friend (J) *fun fact: shes the one mentioned on my bio LMAO* and this other girl (K) who i'd say was super close to me. at the time i know i was pretty naive to call K my best friend but i mean, the three of us were inseparable. though my friendship with K was short-lived, the way life moved it felt like we've been through so much shit as a three alone. K was 2 years younger than us and i got to know her in art class. then i introduced her to my bestie J and thats how we formed. we'd smoke weed during lunch, then me and K would go to our art class reasonably high (eyedrops always in hand), we'd hangout after school, hangout in the summer, hang out after work, it was great.
The Scoop
when it came to my sexuality i barely ever told anyone cause its not that i even doubted in it, i just hate putting a label. i dont know wtf about it, maybe the conservative household i grew up in makes me shy away from being more open. honestly it was never a huge situation in my life and i kinda just rolled with my feelings. i've had crushes on girls, i was really open to other stuff, ik theres the type of girls that want to 'experiment' but in my case it was definitely more than that. i know who i am, ya know? in the city i live in its not unusual to know someone whos bi- in fact its pretty common. i think its common everywhere nowadays honestly just not every city/state/country/continent handles it the same way but thats a whole different discussion. my point is that surely its just ''being bi'' but i couldn't explain it unless you know the feeling because i genuinely can't describe it. i just like being unlabled...
...unless its talking about it to people i deeply trust or pouring my heart out in the bim-.. i mean ximboland forums.
this was the time that made me realize the people i consider trust worthy can fool me lol. now came the time i come out to K. keep in mind it took me a while to open up to J about it but it was no secret to her and she definitely knew before K did. i honestly don't even recall how the conversation with K went but i don't remember it being bad or causing a negative impact. at least i didnt think so...
to cut through a lot of details for the sake of keeping track with the topic probably a year into our friendship K suddenly gives me the cold shoulder. she literally ghosted me lmao. i never knew wtf happened yet she continued to hangout with J. J lied and used me so many times afterwards, there was a huge falling apart with her but once again, the topic. whenever i'd ask J to know whats going on she'd give me the coldest reply. i mean we were best friends for years at that point and went through so much more than her and K ever did. 2 years later, around 2 months ago from today, i find out K has been telling people i had a crush on her. LMAOOOO. it might not seem super crazy (though juicy af lets be real lol) but trust me after 2 years of self-doubt, defending her because i saw what she was going through, wondering what went wrong and hating the fuck out of J, finding out about this left me with an opened mouth for a solid 3 minutes. honestly, i'm still recovering from it cause never in my life did i have a crush on her. i can think of times that she may have misinterpreted things but i swear i had NO feelings at ALL. at that point it felt like J was behind it all (and damn i wish i could give more scoop on that whole fiasco) but during a shift we had together at work, i made the lightest comment regarding a coworker: ''you didnt tell me she was cute'' to which J couldnt have said this any louder: ''I AM NOT A LESBIAN''
grrr. i dont doubt a second she knew what K was telling people, she would give me cold replies because how do you say ''yea i've basically been encouraging a statement i know isn't true because i aired you out to a guy and made bs claims about how you like him'' (so untrue my god.) this whole situation definitely doesn't make it encouraging to come out but i genuinely feel fine keeping that part of me more so to myself. it could sound like im just pushing it in but i dont know how to tell you other than take my word.
i know i'm basically going to contradict myself but never be discouraged to be who you truly are. if its a strong part of you, show it. the lesson i could take from this is to say fuck it. i know who i am and i know my truth. cut out the people that make you feel like shit and move on. only so much you can hold in till it absorbs you and trust me you might as well call me pitbull because:

My friends and I are all LGBT and I honestly adore it. I personally identify as pansexual and I’ll never forget when I realized I wasn’t straight I asked my mom for permission to like girls LMFAO she told me she didn’t care! She was really awesome at accepting me for my sexuality and weird style.
Unfortunatley for me, I'm a tranny in the south. gender affirming care for minors just got banned in my state *sobs*
