Hi all! I wanted to do sort of an assessment on Ximboland's fashion, not only as a fun fashion contest but also to set a precedent for the role of Minister of Fashion as elections are coming up. Not much has been done in the role of MoF, but leading up to the election I will be setting up sort of an idea for tasks. So for those who are thinking of running, I hope this may be helpful for you!
On another note, I'm also doing this as a way to show what I'd be doing as Minister of Fashion if elected. I'm not big on manifestos, I prefer to show my qualities through action, but I may write one if I think I need to.
Now this introduction has gone on long enough, let me actually get into this little lesson I've planned. :)
Fashion is a world of color, and what I mean by that is outfits look their best with a cohesive range of colors.
I personally try to use about 5 different colors in my outfits, some pieces might have extra colors as accents like look up heirloom collectibles sweaters, those are a good example. Super cute. Don't get me wrong, less than 5 is fine. Monochrome and duochrome have been very common in online fashion spaces, 2012 MovieStarPlanet you should have seen it. For now, I want to focus on creating a palette for a look. One that is cohesive, everything looks good together and it all makes sense. I have a habit of matching my bag to my shoes, I can't have them be different colors.
But I digress, let's look at a couple palettes. In this assessment, you could use these as inspiration for your look if you wanted to!
I hope these colors give you sort of an idea about mixing colors and finding an assortment that feels good to you!
Now when incorporating these colors into your look, if they do look sort of funky you can always unite your palette!
I actually learned this from a stitch of one of those paint mixing tiktoks and they were talking about how mixing one color into all your other colors will make them all more blended and therefore cohesive. To achieve this look on Ximboland, try overlays like kimdracula's tinted overlay, Alyssamoon2.0's Miley Cyrus Iheartradio Grain Filter, or Bimbl6's Vignette Camera Filter. :) I think there's also a couple vignettes in the shop that could help.
