Do you believe in God?
Considering how many time's my life has been saved by angel's or God, I am certainly a Believer in God.
In fact I would love to tell some stories about 'How God saved my life.'
Unfortunately non- believer's just use the opportunity to mock God, and I find it is just best to keep my stories to myself.
It is a pity, but being an atheist is it's own religion too, There is just no happy ending's, just nothingness.
I wouldn't want to live my life, with such a hopeless result. I think that would cause me to go into a deep depression and make life and interaction with other people purely meaningless in the End/death.
It also does explain why so many Atheist are such bitter people with no joy.

Science has shown we are all made of carbonized 'Star-dust.' Pieces of STARS that may have exploded billions, trillions, or infinite, of year's ago. Recycled into the person you are today. Such grand processes that are so orderly, do not exist in chaos.

I don't have anything against people who are religious, but I've personally been through a number of experiences that have left me unable to believe in the existence of a loving biblical God. If Abrahamic religion is what makes you happy, that's cool, but I just can't reconcile that with what I've been through.
If there were a god, shouldn't she prevent threads on divisive topics from being necroed after 3-4 years? ;)

I have met a lot of good people in my time, and the one thing they all had in common is they didn't really care if others believed the exact same things they did, as long as you were a good person. It's a pretty long list of people, too, including among others Greek Orthodox and Catholic priests, Serbian Orthodox and Muslim religion teachers, Jewish scientists, Buddhists monks, Hare Krishnas, Agnostic scholars and more. So what's there to care? Let everyone believe whatever gives them the strength to be the good person they are!
I have, by the way, very consciously left American Evangelicals and Atheist off the above list. All the most disagreeable people, ones that could not possibly pass for decent human beings by any reasonable standard, I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with myself belonged to either one of those two groups. Some faiths do seem rather toxic, I fear.

I think the problem with modern atheists in particular is that some of them seem to confuse atheism for antitheism, particularly the ones who tend to be white cisgender men for whatever reason. They just get obnoxious and condescending about it, and those atheists give the rest of them a bad name lol.

I think there is a god, or maybe more than one, somewhere. I think something out there made us, or at least put our creation into motion. But I don't know which god it is, and I don't really think it's my business to know. I'm sort of a nihilistic pagan - nothing matters, I'm a tiny, minuscule human, my impact on the world at large will not be that grand, so I'm going to do the best with what I've got. Most American mindsets would find that outlook bleak, but I find it soothing. If nothing matters, then nothing's a big deal to get worried about, y'know? So, I'm not worried about who god is - I don't need to know.

I personally don't believe in God but I respect other people's religions. It all comes down to what makes you feel empowered. I personally feel empowered by believing that I have control over my life, but if the idea of a higher power helps you get through life, you do you.
