Sick Rescue Puppy

Rescued a puppy recently and he's been trying to adjust to his new home all while recovering from worms and fleas.. He was only 6 weeks old when we got him (he's 8 weeks old now, a white german shepherd puppy) His name is Maine, and gosh despite all the issues he has soooo much energy.. Too much for how little sleep I've been getting since he needs to go out every 2 hours, give or take. As a result, I haven't gotten a full nights sleep uninterrupted in 2 weeks.. I've cleaned up more puppy puke and diarrhea in the past few weeks than I have ever seen prior. Plus trying to keep him entertained at home, he's too young and doesn't have all his vaccines yet so he can't go out for walks or to parks yet. On top of this I do all of the housework for my family; including cooking, cleaning, laundry, dishes, yard work, grocery shopping, etc. It's been a lot to juggle but I'm sure it will be better soon. He has a check-up next week to see if the deworming medicine has done its job, plus I haven't seen a single flea on him since we started treatment in about a week. He gets his next few rounds of vaccines every 2 weeks soon and after that, I can get him into socialization and training classes, and even get him into a local puppy daycare so I can have days off. So anyway, despite the sleep deprivation and frustration, I'm doing my best to help him recover and learn new skills and once he's around 12-16 weeks old he will probably start sleeping the whole night and I can recover myself. Good luck! <3 You are doing a good thing, it's hard sometimes but you won't regret rescuing.

At some point while I still had my first dog, I rescued pregnant female. She was following me from downtown to my place and I just couldn't get in and leave her outside. Of course I acted clueless about her being pregnant and blamed big belly on bad food, worms and what not in front of family members. Soon they realized what was really going on but then I had another excuse - How to kick out pregnant dog?? Luckily it all went in my, my dog's and new dog's favor. I was happy about rescuing her, my dog really liked her and she liked him, she gave birth to 3 puppies indoor so they were all safe. My dog enjoyed taking care of puppies and playing with them. After about two weeks when they opened eyes and started walking around I was full time babysitter. When they are that young it looks like they sleep for less than an hour, eat, play for 3 hours, eat again, have a short nap and all over again lol It wasn't always so easy to go after them but soon their daily schedule changed so they were not all over the place all the time. I couldn't keep all of them, mom and two male puppies got new homes and female baby stayed with us. She is an awesome dog and I am happy no one wanted her.

If you live in relatively urban area it is safe to get her out for the toilet and stuff. Most of diseases are eradicated from urban and semi-urban places. For not vaccinated dogs and cats it is dangerous to have contact with the environment where wild animals roam or in rural places with big domestic animals with bad upkeeping.

Coming to terms with lots of trauma is really hard sometimes. I dont feel like I have the right to even post this because it makes me feel bad about myself. But I decide to vent because there is nothing wrong with that. If anyone else has gone through a lot of hard times in their life, that still affect them today, I know it is really difficult to deal with but everything will be okay

i hear you, my rescue dog who i love more than anything in my life only these past few months began presenting with what we now know 2 be epilepsy and for 2 weeks straight i didn't sleep properly with 5 days gone next to sleepless because after her first episode, whenever she would kick or itch in her sleep the sound would go straight through my ears and send blood rushing thru my head cuz i was so afraid she would have another, and because she sleeps in my bed U could imagine how that went for me....x,) and the subsequent messes that have happened, i'm reminded of when we got her as a puppy and the sheer volume of puke and diarrhea felt impossible for the size of her lol!!! it's exhausting and the smell of disinfectant and air freshener is probably burning yer nose hairs out and making you funny in the head but trust me there is no spirit stronger than a baby puppy's, your doggie will triumph over this for sure && your well-deserved rest will come swiftly and soundly :) keep yer head up!!! <3

his funeral is tomorrow. i didn't want to go at first because no matter what i do i'll never feel like i said a proper goodbye, but i know he'd want me to be there so i decided that i'll go.

i still can't believe he's gone. i can't listen to like 50% of my library because the songs are either too sad or he sent me them or i have a memory connected to him. i can't wear that hoodie he gave me for christmas just 4 months ago. i can't look at our photos. i can't see monsters (the energy drinks) and not be reminded that was his favorite drink. i can't go to that certain area of town where we went for walks in summer at 2am.

he was the only one in my life that i truly considered a soulmate at some point. i can't believe he's gone.

I totally hear what you're saying. I suffer from similar sorts of insecurities as you do. Im a petite female that hasn't got the kind of curves that should (if the whole of the media world is to be believed) have, no bust to speak of and no butt. I have allergies and can't wear cosmetics I have little self confidence in myself, often I'll hide away and retreat from the world, choosing to go to work rather than socialise. I find social situations hard and often do not react in the way that is expected while in social situations. It's taken me a long time to be brave enough to get out there and do stuff. I discovered that my happiest place is in the swimming pool, luckily I choose to go when the pool is mainly occupied by older people. They don't judge you, and once i'm in the water I feel totally free. Head down doing laps it's just me and the freedom of isolation that the water gives. I hope that you manage to achieve your goal. It's a hard road, but overcoming your feelings can be so very difficult. The benefits though will outweigh the pain of achieving it.

Usually I'm doing horrible but today I got my front 6 teeth fixed after 3 years of them rotting out of my face due to a dentist drilling my enamel and not filling it, this whole procedure I've been going through for about 3 months now was going to cost 25k but half was paid by the county and half probono as the damage was done when I was a minor and wasn't my fault.
I can finally smile again.

These past years I have never been motivated to do anything, I don't think it's depression. I had such big plans for myself when I started high school now I have no idea what I will do and where life is taking me. It seems like I have nothing in my life. On top of being such a boring person I don't even have the looks or wow brain. To make it worse I think I have social anxiety but I can't even get diagnosed because in my country it would classify me as "crazy". It's so embarrassing to even do anything because it will result in me shaking from head to toes, my voice being very noticeable and people giving me weird looks. I can only hope for a little bit of motivation and I just want to finish high school because I hate my class since it's all men and they are actually the worst human beings ever, disgusting.

^^^ yazabelle. Thank you so much for the advice. Having mostly guys in the class isn't such a huge problem but I dislike how they treat women and what things they say. I used to defend men saying how not everyone is same, only for me to go to a class where almost all of them are the same. It's sad how they view the world and everything. Obviously not all of them are same, but I guess there is a standard here on how they should be, how to act and what is cool. About the hobbies literally only thing I have atm is digital drawing, but it wouldn't be a good job honestly, not a high pay plus I don't even have a drawing tablet. I might follow my sister's steps on the career part, I just hope it can bring me some sort of happiness.
