Hello Ximboland
An update:
1) Thanks to Prime Xmbo Halo and her government for their continued hardwork and support of our democracy. Halo has proved that it is possible to govern without the need to silence her critics. Whilst many people may not agree with her decisions or opinions its clear that she has a love for Ximboland and a strong sense of community.
Thanks to Halo and her ministers.
2) In our continued effort to create the best community of the internet bar none from August 1st we will make a few tweaks and changes.
Historically we have elected 1 Prime Ximbo at these elections and no ministers but form August we will make these changes -
a) I will become the 'temporary' Prime Ximbo
b) We will be governed by a team of 4 ministers. You will elect 3 ministers - Fashion, Entertainment and Foreign/Marketing Ministers
c) I will choose the Justice Minister
d) The treasury funds will be evenly split between the 4 ministers with nothing going to me/Prime Ximbo
e) Downvotes will be removed to get rid of posting anxiety
f) We will focus on the positive aspects of Ximboland life eg fashion and fun so the Xemocracy arena and court forums will be moved lowerdown. They are contentious but important areas but perhaps better suited hidden away lower down in Town Square
g) New stylish logo and background will be added.(See below)
f) A new X feed will be added so you can Xeet and reXeet
h) new ministerial badges added
More detail about the above:
a) The Prime Ximbo job has become too big for one person to do effectively. Its become apparent that the only way forward is for us to divide governance up between 4 x ministers. I put myself forward to be the glue between the ministers until such a time when you too can elect the Prime Ximbo. The Prime Ximbos Should always be someone whom works for us (Ximboland corporation) and you (the Ximboland citizens). So when the time is right I will step aside and you can elect a new Prime Ximbo.
b) In the meantime on August 1st you will vote for and decide the Ministers of Fashion, Entertainment and Foreign affairs/Marketing. I will make another post giving more details about these roles.
c) I will choose the Minister of Justice.
The minister of Justice is the most contentious and interesting role of all. Along with Minister of Fashion they are the most important roles in all of Ximboland. This is the Ximbo whom will have the power to dictate the level of humour/openness and freedom of speech here in Ximboland. For that reason we will give them the power to jail Ximbos at their own discretion for 7 days max.
One important point here is regards to whom I appoint.
In order to maintain balance and fairness I will give this power and appoint Ximbos from the opposite ends of the censorship spectrum for alternate terms/elections. This means we will have different levels of censorship alternating every 3 months. For example for this next term I will appoint someone who primarily believes in lower governance and more freedom of speech.
For the term after this I will appoint someone whom believes in a more rule based system and more censorship with less freedom of speech. And so on and so forth.
