I gather you all here today to announce my run for Minister of Foreign Affairs. To make this as least confusing as possible, I, Nikandr, am the secondary account of current MoFA, Katrynah. Due to restrictions in code, one senator cannot hold multiple minister positions at once and I am a man with surprisingly little going on in his life, so I’m running on my second account for the position.
I currently manage the Ximboland Instagram and Facebook, you can check out my work here and here! I do my best to promote ongoing fashion contests, crazes, and events on site and have been doing so since late April of this year. It was a tad hard finding my footing and I had to figure out a lot of what to do myself as there wasn’t a recent MoFA’s work to look to for guidance ever since Mawesmazing’s time in the role.
While reviving our social media, I also began the Community Spotlights over in Haute Coffee! Community Spotlights are intended to show off long standing community members and/or those who have really made a name for themselves on site. In presenting their good work, I invite the community to thank them with me for their time here as well as present them with a banner (keep an eye out for July's upcoming edition!). If diamond stipends are to be allotted to Ministers, I will absolutely use mine to reward these players each month.
In addition to revitalizing the role of MoFA, I’m a long time member who enjoys engaging with ximbos in conversation, fashion contests, and the occasional debate. I’ve devoted a lot of my time to this site because I feel it is an incredibly unique and valuable space and I enjoy my time here and I want to give back in ways that foster this love for the site in others!
I’d like to continue creating and promoting on our social media sites as I do now, but I’d also like to expand all of what I post! Currently, I’ve been covering major events like fashion contests, crazes, and elections, but I’d like to expand this to include posting about Shop Updates, contest winners, and maybe try hosting a social media based event! By becoming MoFA in it’s new, reworked state, I’d like to put my all into the role and make it a meaningful addition to the community once more.
I will also be continuing the Community Spotlights and, as I mentioned prior, if I am granted a diamond stipend I’d like to reward those honored in order to make the recognition extra special! I’d also like to reward active community members here and there by intermittently giving out prizes as a show of appreciation to those at home who embody ximbo pride.
Finally, I’d like to set a high standard and expectation for the MoFA role not only to give whoever would come after me a solid base to work with, but also to ensure our community is being returned the love and effort they put into the site.
