Who here has problems with skin picking,  nail picking,  hair pulling,  cheek biting,  etc?

I was originally told that I do those things from anxiety.  Years later, I found out they can be from ADHD. I think it's more from ADHD. Like, when I am "bored" (not really feeling engaged/stimulated), I pick at my skin & nails. 

One of my counselors said to rubber band my wrist instead but that resulted in bruising from doing it so much. The only other solution I have found is fidget toys. What works for you?

God I feel this so much, my most common activity is biting pieces of skin from my lips and lip licking (which I'm doing as I'm typing this), I only gently bite down on my cheeks or suck on them but sometimes my jaw slips and I bite down too hard on it which sucks, I also CAN NOT leave spots and pimples and such alone, I ALWAYS have to pop and pick at them if I see them (I still have a dark spot on my chin from like the start of December where a spot was that I kept clawing at)

I used to bite my nails and pick at them obsessively to keep them short but my brain flipped a switch at some point and now I'm keeping them as long as possible, although I can not resist picking at them if there's a small tear, and I always have to pick at the pieces of skin around it if there's any coming off, but that's mostly because if I don't tear them off (quite painful sometimes) they'll harden and start irritating the wound around the nail

I play with my hair a lot and sometimes if I can feel a strand of hair with a texture that's different from all the other hair I pull it out

And of course the classic leg bounce, I'm always bouncing my leg, if I'm not bouncing my leg assume I'm dead

I bought a stim necklace at some point that was meant as a chew toy but I discovered that fidgeting is more my thing, I always want to keep my hands busy, and since it's a bendy music note shape it's quite a good fidget toy

I can not recommend https://www.stimtastic.co/ enough to anyone who needs to stim a lot on a daily basis, I really need to invest in more fidget toys since I never wear my necklace anymore and instead start lowkey destroying my clothes by fidgeting at the seams and pulling on loose threads and stuff

Skin picking for me. Like... everywhere. I’ve done it on my legs, back, arms, lips, face... awful habit of mine. What I found personally works for me is putting textures I don’t like or barriers on the spots I pick and scratch. What stopped me from face picking was lotion because I hate that texture, arm warmers became a barrier for my arms, socks and long pajamas for my legs, and so on. I’ve been meaning to try fidget toys as well but I honestly end up finding them more entertaining than my task and end up distracted... however my boyfriend (who’s autistic and has ADHD) uses a chew toy/necklace thingy and it seems to help him out! I also find that keeping my hands too busy to scratch helps me a lot.

^ forgot to add;

If skin picking is a frequent issue, I recommend cutting your nails as often as possible AND filing them into SMOOTH edges. This part is important!! It creates a little stub of a nail instead of a sharp edge and now you can’t scratch anymore. This helped me out for a bit but I’m a lazy person and I don’t do this often.. I probably should. It helps.

Yeah, I used to do it with pimples and ripping out nails ( I know gross). Its mainly from extra energy that my ADHD brain needs to get the fuck out! Figet toys help a bunch for me personally.

Update
So, I bought a chew necklace on Amazon & it arrived quickly. So far, I don't like it. It's very hard. I spit it out. I chew on my lip, which is soft & easy to bite. I put my chew necklace back in my mouth but it's hard. 
I see that Stimtastic has a guide for different levels (light, moderate, aggressive chewing). Maybe I need a light necklace.
Gum works short-term. But I eventually spit it out and then chew on my lips & cheeks again. 
I've also been using my fidget spinner a lot.
