Nevertheless it's an ideal, it's something you strive towards, and even achieving the steps towards said ideal can be progress. Tolerance of plurality of views means that people aren't offended so easily and are open to being challenged because they have confidence in their own views.

It is a beautiful idea to daydream about, sometimes in the search for the ideal society we may end up destroying something good about society. It is so surreal to be called a conservative transphobe today, I was supporting LGBT rights before it was cool. I was the democrat, no need for labels and blue haired girl growing up. The lines of boundaries are so blurred out that we are at odds with each other. People are afraid to say something that might offend someone as if all people are rational. I have no hate for anyone, but I also don’t hold my tongue when asked my opinions, which were asked. Some don’t like that and I’m not a dollar bill for everyone to like me. Some people fight each other because they don’t like the same music, wtf. Lol That’s crazy.

When you feel that the discussion is going outside the bounds of civility, and no progress is being made, then I think that there is no use in expressing your opinion. What I have realized is that sometimes people just ask your opinion, but don't really want it. What they want is to see if you will validate them. That is an emotional concept, and while it is important it does not have a place in these sorts of discussions and situations.
Replying to them in a similar fashion may not validate their viewpoint, but it validates their idea of the "enemy" in some way and creates further division and diversion. The best thing to do in this case is to not engage with someone whose mind you cannot change, and do something else which is more productive.
You alone know in your mind if you are transphobic or not, and this is proven by showing, and not telling.

I've always joined in all sorts of debates and shenanigans. I make my own fun as I go and I’m not in a telenovela to go finding enemies. XD I like to engage though cause I'm always curious about people . I do my share in real life to help out, but I use the internet for my enjoyment. I've asked myself if I am responsible for every single person's feeling when I say something on the net. I always come to the answer yes and no. I may influence some sort of feeling but I am not responsible for their reaction; what they choose to express or do with those feelings. I could say “I absolutely hate the color pink, what an ugly effing color!” Someone out there will most likely come at me for saying that. Lol
