Honestly, I don't think that's a bad thing.

honorscollege, I am glad to hear your antidepressant is working for you.

Personally, I started my 30th psych medication in December. No positive effect yet. It gives me vivid dreams & nightmares and makes me wake up at 2 AM every morning, even when I changed my dose. Possibly because it's a fairly new drug that is supposed to last longer than older drugs. It's half-life is 25 hours. So, basically, no matter what time I take it, it is still in my system & affecting my sleep.

I had asked my doctor if he even thought an oral medication would work at this point (as so many other literally had no positive effect). He seemed to dodge the question. He said, "Nothing lasts forever." Um, yeah, but nothing has worked in the first place for me.

Yes, Prozac & Zoloft are both SSRIs.
I have been on SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reutake Inhibitors), SNRIs (Serotonin & Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors), NDRIs (Norepinephrine Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitors), MAOIs (Mono Amine Oxidase Inhibitors), and "atypical" antidepressants that don't fall into those categories.

What works for some people doesn't work for others.
That said...For me personally, Bupropion (an NDRI) "worked" best for depression but made me overwhelmingly anxious, which is why I'm not still on it.

There are several companies that offer testing to help determine the best antidepressant.
I had a test that looked at my liver enzymes. We learned that I metabolize drugs faster than average people do. This is why I haven't responded well to the medications I have tried.
I have also heard there is a company that looks at genes to see if your genes for serotonin, norepinephrine, or dopamine are affected. This way, theoretically, your doctor can prescribe medication that targets the neurotransmitter that is affected by your genes.

Again, what worked for me (or for others on this thread) may not work for you because we all have different genetics, neurotransmitter levels, and metabolisms that affect our response to medication.

I know i said I’d be deleting my account if Chris didn’t respond to our complaints but I feel obligated to stay now that he wants to get rid of me on purpose. Youre stuck with me now!! And i guess everyone else is too but at least the few people i’d miss make this decision better lol.

anyway it really sucks that i bloomed barely this year and now covid makes it hard for me to truly express myself. Like makeup wise and whatnot. I also dress a lot brighter but where do i even go anymore?? I wish covid would finish up quickly so i can reach my fullest potential

I’m on zoloft! My dose isnt too extreme i think im not sure. I barely started a few months ago which isnt a lot compared to most people. Its been working great for me though. As u can see in the post above i “bloomed” (aka became a mentally better person) in 2020 bc thats when i started zoloft!
