I also don’t think 2 months is enough. You not only lose the excitement for the elections, but it’s a lot to cram into 2 months. Even all of your points seem like a hell of a lot of work for the coders to try and do in 2 months. Is that really enough time for all of this to be implemented?

Have you all noticed the change to SweeeeeeeetAsNus’ sig?  Hmmm?

“You enjoy roleplaying with your own Bimbo so let us also enjoy roleplaying with our own Bimboland nation.”

With that in mind, im going to role play this idea:
I’m kinda leaning towards trying out Authoritarianism for perhaps a few months or years.  It’s totally an option, in The Book…and I think it could actually be quite pleasant.  Democracy always leads to anarchy anyway.  It resets back to some authority…then eventually gets back on track.

I feel like a true democracy would allow state representatives to vote on each policy / change individually? Instead of like... arguing about it on a forum. Every change I've seen in the almost 2 years I've been here has just been a random surprise.

Additionally I just wanna say that I support the idea of an explicit area on the forum. I came to this site because I'm an adult and I want to talk about adult things, it does make me uncomfortable to see so many young people here, having an explicitly adult area would be a nice.

1-1. "launch...Xonservative Bimbo Party"...from within Atheista!

This is a revolutionary move, Sweetasnuts!
The creation of Intra-State political groups that compete with the State Ideologies.
You mentioned the State Ideologies in one of your posts but I can't find it.
Perhaps these sub-political groups will encourage a revisiting of the State Ideologies
"Categories" "Definitions of State Names" "Multiple text answer fields"
and a new sub-state Ideology section that the State Minister has complete control over.

This is empowering.  This is progress.  This is The Beginning of Ximboland 2.0

Well done sir!

Hi, I think a lot of my posts from the last thread are things I think should be considered/answered and it was well received but Chris didn't have a chance before the thread was closed so I'm going to just bring them over here. A couple of these points I felt were addressed by Chris' manifesto but I think the userbase needs more clarity on what would be and wouldn't be in their power if they ran for Prime Bimbo. My previous questions in this thread also still stand as I'd like to know how long you intend to be in post for, whether you'll be maintaining the same Fashion Police, who agrees changes to sit features/functionality and how this would be managed across multiple terms.

The post from last thread was as follows:

I think moving forward, the below changes should be considered for implementation if the aim is to foster democracy

A fair impartial moderation system

1. Rules need to be clear and detailed. Subjective interpretations should be minimised and there should be a focus on being as objective as possible. These should be clearly communicated with the user
2. Punishment thresholds should be clear and communicated and outlined in relation with the rules. Iowa's graded system for jailing makes perfect sense. Any jailing reasons should then refer back to these rules and outlined punishments
3.Moderators should be impartial and unbiased and should not let their personal feelings cloud their judgement.
4. Moderating should be communicated in a professional manner with the aim to deescalate and ensure the established rules are stuck to
5.There should be clear guidelines on when material should be removed.
6.Records need to be kept to hold the moderation team accountable. This is also important because if somebody questions their treatment, you should have an accurate record of what they did and why moderators intervened.
7.Moderation should be actively undertaken by several people with clear communication steams, this will help balance bias and differing viewpoints
8.Punishments should be consistently given so there are no double standards. Follow the protocols outlined in the rules and outlined punishments
9. Terminology regarding the current punishment system and information should be clearly communicated so new users should be able to easily establish how things are running. The terminology currently used is confusing as it is different to other websites. Define your terms and be patient when people ask for clarity regarding this.
10. Users should be provided with a fair way of appealing. The current rule where nobody can discuss moderator intervention combined with the inconsistent applying of the rules is oppressive and opaque

All of this can apply to the minimalist rules sweetasnuts proposes, the rules can be set as needed but the application of the rules needs to be clearly defined and they need to be robust or else you run into issues further down the line.

Implement better features and improve site functionality
1.
If we're going to foster a community of free speech and minimise input from moderators, you need to better empower users to protect themselves. It's not just about having to endure abuse, trolling, hurty words etc, it's the fact that people's enjoyment of the site is affected by a select few whose sole purpose seems to be making everybody else miserable. This is annoying and people should be able to block people whose content they don't want to see. This should hide content from view and stop the blocked person also viewing content. That way any "censorship" is done at a personal level. Literally every other social media app has this feature.
2. Timestamped edits on forum posts - at present it's really easy to post something and then edit it after posting it. I've never encountered a forum that didn't timestamp edits or denote that a post was edited. It's too easy for people to clean up and change narratives. Let people edit their posts but timestamp it with a note it was edited.

Better transparency and communication with the community

1. It might make sense to you, Chris but the website political structure is not intuitive and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It would be helpful to have an easy to find guide on how this place runs. The wiki is outdated and there's lots of little pieces of information people have to pick up as they go. This being clearly described and outlined would help
2. Clearly established roles and responsibilities. People running for Prime Bimbo need a clear description of what the role entails, same for state minister. It needs to be clearly defined. Same for fashion police and any of the other roles.
3, Jargon and abbreviations - it is confusing to read this place if you're a newer player. Everybody uses jargon and if you ask questions they're not always met kindly. There should be a list of commonly used terms and abbreviations to signpost players to. It's alienating to newer members. Chris, even you ran into problems because you had a differing idea of what the term "Pink House" referred to.
4. Better communication with regards to planned changes on the website. Regular lists of changes so the userbase know what has happened. Not only that but planned changes and features should be regularly communicated to users. This would further encourage people to actually invest in playing the game as they know what's ahead and the game is actively being worked on and improved. It would also give players a better appreciation for the behind the scenes work.
5. At present, the userbase make recommendations/suggestions and then they vanish into the ether and we don't hear back. Engage with your userbase and speak to them about what is possible, what features are being prioritised, what is and isn't possible.

Coding responsibilities

1. I think you've stated Mariolka is under your employment so things work differently there, however it would be useful for the userbase to have an understanding of his remit, roles and responsibilities. He has previously entered threads threatening to ban people. Is it his job to enforce the rules?
2. A true democracy would require the coder to remain impartial. He needs to work effectively with each government. He's also unelected so his influence in terms of the politics and enforcement of the rules ought to be minimised for the sake of fostering democracy.
3. There seems to have been some drama regarding shop workers with regards to Mariolka, if his role, remit and responsibilities were better understood, then any potential issues could be dealt with more effectively.
4. Does anybody have overall input and sign off on what coder resource is used for in terms of implementing features? Features should be prioritised based on their impact with regards to the site owner's legal obligation, improving the site and driving more site traffic and revenue.
5. How will longstanding projects and features be managed between governments? What is the average time between the initial scoping of the idea and it being implemented in terms of a site feature? This needs to be ironed out, especially if the aim is to shorten thr PB length.
6. There needs to be a clearer definition of what is the site owner's decision, what falls to the coding team and what is the Prime Bimbo's responsibilities. Until this is done, you're going to have a hard time being hands off as you wish.

I'm going to say something that people should have the common sense to understand already. Nobody and i mean nodody has the right to demand the job specifications of someone that is employed on this website. We have no right as a users of this website to know that knoweledge. We are not a part of the website admin. Just because some drama has surronded him does not mean you have the right know about what his job entails.
You have asked multiple times and it has been ignored since you/we have no right to be privy to that information.
Now stop asking about it!
This is a official warning on bringing it up, its inapproppriate to ask.

Now for your 1st numbered points it looks like chris wants to keep it to FP decretion even in the next terms.  From my understanding he believes it should be upto the PB.
Points 6 and 7 have been detailed in the manifesto by something he calls the fashion police headquarters.

2nd set of numbered points. This has been somewhat addressed, he wants there to be added government notes instead of changes in people post unless it needs it like rasist words or pictures or full genitalia, things along those lines.

3rd set of numbered posts. number 4 " I recognise that being Prime Bimbo is a great privilege and I will do my best to represent Ximboland on the world stage by asking myself and my foreign secretary to post daily on twitter." This could be used for that but you will have to ask for that to be clarified on daily posts and if it will inlcuded updates and what not.
number5- some have been made like new the games. Not all suggests will be made because that just wouldn't work. Also he has took the suggestion for homes and seems to want to implement that. Maybe instead of a thread there could be a button to click like for report a problem and what ever flags up the highest in suggestion can be seen by admin.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, my post was directed to Chris as I'm interested in his perspective. I'm not sure if it was ignored, you closed the thread ensuring nobody could discuss it so I wanted an opportunity to do so. Hope that clears things up a bit?

I think the other thread can be reopened now.
I'd like to see engagement on both...since the topics are unique, and different enough to warrant further exploration.

This is going to be an interesting month.
I suggest the Moderation team relax and just let things evolve and let's see what happens.

I'm not angry, just clarifying but thank you, I'm having a chilled out evening.

I'm aware some points have been addressed but there's still points of contradiction and I think the community needs an understanding of what is and isn't possible with regards to implementing change around here and what the Prime Bimbo remit actually entails. For that to be clear, there needs to be an understanding of how they interface with the paid staff of the website. Until that's outlined, candidates have no idea what they can put in their manifestos. That's why I've asked the above questions and I look forward to further insight from Chris.
