Good luck Halo! I am happy to see you are getting ready for upcoming elections :)

I would just like to clear up some misconceptions here... If you think that Halo is 'my person' in some mysterious way, congratulations, you are wrong again! :D If you jumped on Halo because of that please take it easy. The only connection between us is being SMs one after another and we both love our state. I didn't step down specifically for Halo to make her new SM. It could have been anyone who wanted to take part in the last SM election. I was looking indeed for anyone who is active, if there was no one willing to take part I would have gone for another term. The reasons for stepping down were:
1) At the time prior to the election I had some issues with paypal and found out I can't use my visa directly for buying sub. Paypal issue got resolved sooner than I expected, but not soon enough to make me sure everything would be alright. I was able to renew my sub just 2-3 days before losing SM rank which was about a week before the election.
2) Next issue was that my visa card was also about to expire. It was happening during the holidays. Without a card attached to a paypal account it's impossible to subscribe for recurring paying. It means, even with the first paypal issue resolved it would be risky to eventually stay without a card and not be able to deal with my sub which could lead to losing SM rank. Of course, there is an alternative for remedying it but better safe than sorry.
3) I had my personal reasons for assuming stepping down was a good idea at the moment (mostly lack of free time I was experiencing during the last few a couple of months), for these same reasons I stepped down from another role as well. That being said, if there was no one up to take on the SM role I would have made a way to continue to avoid our state being without SM. But since Halo decided to go for it, it seemed as a win-win solution.

Halo was one of the most active players during State wars. There was a group of players always ready for our next action and Halo was among them. I consider any of these players reliable and responsible enough. No matter if it was Halo or another player from that active group, I would feel safe enough to leave SMing in their hands.

To anyone who likes to judge others I can only say it's hard to correctly judge anyone with any role based on their first, last or any other two months only. While it is beneficial for SMs or PB to show off at an early stage of their first term it doesn't say much about how it's going to look in the long run. Someone can seem a great SM just to end up being not so great PB, and the other way around. These two roles seem similar to many players way more than they actually are. PB duties are much more than just hosting contests, at least it was like that. Of course, there is also a personal factor on how much someone is willing to offer.
On the other hand, roles evolve. Being SM now is not the same as it was 2-3 years ago. Being PB after February might be very different than it was during my terms for instance, which was also very different compared to PBing a couple of years ago.

Expressing concerns and expectations, asking questions, etc. is ok and is welcome. But ganging up this way against one candidate is a shame! Only makes me curious how it's going to look like with other candidates if there is going to be more :)
Chris himself said other candidates may include some of his points so I don't see the problem if Halo did it if she actually agrees and likes them. I had questions coming from some SMs from other states if I was ok with them copying and re-wording part of my programs or asking me for suggestions on what to add or perhaps what to skip back then. Some didn't even ask, instead they checked campaigns from previous SMs and PBs, took parts they liked, worded it their way and no one was pointing fingers and had problems with that. Suddenly it is an issue. After all, no one keeps a hand on your mouse so you will vote anyway for the candidate of your personal choice.

Hi Halo
Well done for putting yourself forwards and standing up for democracy here in Bimboland.
Lots of Bimbos may talk - you are being brave and doing rather than just talking. So well done.
To answer your questions from before - yes of course you can add or remove forum sections. Thats your choice and your right as PB.
Good luck with your campaign and may the best Bimbo win. Who knows - if we draw we may end up in a coalition government working together.
best of luck

Hi Halobear, I have two(+) questions for you to ponder and reply to if you wish:

1. What do you think of the State Ideologies?
    a. What is the definition of a "Free Thinker"?
    b. Are you content with FTL's current Ideology Categories?

2. Ximboland vs The Flatlands:
    a. What is the difference between the two?
    b. Can they coexist within our Island Borders?

You started your Election Program 4 days before the Starting Gun on the 15th.
In the past, many would wait until the final week...days...and in rare cases the final seconds.

Sometimes being the "first" is better than being the "last".
I thank you for being a Ximbolandarian Maverick.
SweetasNuts beat us all to the punch this time, yes, he did.
Maybe starting election campaigns "early" will become a new habit.

Thanks for your time Halobear. Bestie of luck. k

It is really nice to see such response to your opponent. You certainly stand out like a beacon of light in murky sea full of petty little fishes. That's how healthy competition should look like. Hope the rest of candidates and their fan base will take this as a chance to learn something valuable.

I do have a question or a few for Halo as well...

1. What do you think about not having FP at all or having just one or two (with one of them being a MoJ)? This question is not meant as suggestion or a clue for anyone or anything, it's just came up to me out of curiosity in terms of 'less is more' vs. 'the more the merrier'.
-If you are interested to hear more about such dilemma I can provide the reasoning behind it.

2. There are two MoGs. One is MoJ another MoFA. You have your channel/s (I'll be honest, didn't check it out and not sure how to find it on twitch, if I got correctly you have smt there as well aside of YT). You might wondering why I mentioned these two topics together... here's why - in a certain way you are doing part of MoFA thing. Going back to the main question now...
2.1. Did you consider appointing your MoFA?
2.2. If yes, what would you expect from them?
2.3. Do you think that role deserves more exposure or find it rather irrelevant?
-Again, if you are curious why I ask this I can answer.

3. Since the site is 18+, I assume you will ban minors. Is that correct?

Speaking of this
(Due to the recent retirement of all previously established Fashion Police, I will be looking for new ximbos interested in taking on the Fashion Police role.) Some of the main requirements would be that you have to be mature, reasonable, and unbiased. Additionally, this job requires a thick skin and the ability to remain unbothered when dealing with the petty trolls and indignant ximbos.

Even if we didn't decide to leave the forum in the hands of players and kept up with our FPing, as newly elected PB you would still have open hands to dismiss us and pick your own FP. Whether by putting application up or doing it solely in your discretion or any other way.

Thanks for replying :)

Hi Halo, congratulations on entering the race and thank you for sharing your manifesto with everybody. This election is shaping up to be a really exciting election and I find your promotional posters funny and cute. At present I'm something of a swing voter because there's equal aspects of things I like and things I want my clarity for in each manifesto.

You'll have to forgive me for not watching it in full but I always prefer to check source material myself so that I can get my own read of a situation so I did watch a clip of your stream after Richard mentioned the 42 minute timestamp. Your stream is external to the website so I don't really have that much interest in it with regards to your manifesto as per Chris' wishes but as it's been discussed I just wanted to weigh in. I was surprised to see it was actually one of my comments you were reading which you then paraphrased for your manifesto.

leonardo dicaprio as rick dalton in the film once upon a time in hollywood sitting on a couch in a yellow sweater and holding a beer and pointing his finger at the television screenLoadOfBarnacles07

I actually found it funny, flattering and to be honest I don't think it's that much of a big deal. I am of course in complete agreement we need a much better blocking feature on this website so if a candidate agrees with that and then adds something to that effect to their manifesto then somebody is listening to feedback and that's a good thing! Not only that but I think I literally mention in my comment that it's something that is repeatedly requested on the suggestions thread so it's not like I was making a unique or particularly groundbreaking suggestion. It's just something we desperately need.

I think you could have gone about things in a different way but everybody makes mistakes. I think this would have landed really well if you'd taken the time to talk to people raising the issues and just said you're including them in your manifesto. That would have been a strong move politically as you'd be making "constitutents" feel heard and seen. I'd definitely recommend taking the time to talk to more users in the forums, I think it has a powerful effect on the community. Chris' key weakness is that he isn't as in touch with his community so one way you can have an edge is if you demonstrate you are. I do also acknowledge that Chris has had a little more opportunity to engage and listen with us over the past few months than you have as the threads were his and he got the opportunity to answer questions. I think just dropping people a message and chatting to them would have gone a long way.

Last comment regarding your stream and I apologise if this isn't what occurred but as a user of the community it doesn't sit right with me if you have been making fun of people's outfits and accounts on the stream. You have every right to do as you wish on your stream, it's yours after all. But if you come to ximboland and then claim you're promoting the website, it starts to paint us in a certain light. Not only that but as SM you have a degree of responsibility and I'm not sure how I feel about having an SM in place who would make fun of other users? I think it would be good to either have a degree of separation with regards to your stream and this website (don't link it to here and your role here) or if you wish to link them, make sure you're not doing it in a way that singles out any one user. It just contradicts your above statement: "We are stronger when we are tolerant. We are stronger when we stand together than push each other apart."

1. Would you be undertaking any MoJ/FP responsibilities yourself or would you be delegating this to your MoJ and FP. I ask as your quickness to anger and label those asking questions as trolls isn't representative of what your manifesto's general ethos is (de-escalation, being fair etc.) That's of course not a problem if you delegate responsibilities, we all have weaknesses.

2. How will you combat hate speech during your term? How will you define hate speech?

3. Chris has shortened the PB term to just 2 months which isn't very long at all and poses a new challenge to those in power. Your manifesto has a lot in it you're looking to achieve. You also answered the questions regarding your time as SM by stating it's only been a month but that is now 1/2 the PB term time. How will you ensure you are able to implement the changes you wish to implement within this time frame?

4. Will you be implementing measures for community engagement and feedback?

I'd also be interested in hearing LillyAnn's above questions answered (although admittedly idk what a MoFA is).

Things I really like about your manifesto:
- Balanced cabinet of views
- Job requirements for MoJ/FP
- Warning tiers for rule breaking
- Dislike of posts being edited by FP
- No explicit imagery (Although would be curious if there's any leeway for art?)
- Functional blocking feature (I am begging...)

I look forward to hearing your answers. I asked Chris a lot of questions and his answers helped me further understand what he hopes to achieve and allowed him to further advocate for his cause. I'm presently on the fence between the two candidates.

Best of luck and thank you for throwing your hat in the ring,

Gemima, and for everyone else raising this concern: When I am on stream I am simply trying to entertain people, I am a jester. Lesson for everyone: content creators are not the same IRL as they are on stream (when trying to entertain, work, and make money/grow a platform). I will be able to "keep a separate church and state", if you will. I care about justice, what I say about people's outfits is not indicative of the justice I wish to bring to the table. Hence, why I say I'd put it to a vote if members of PH would like to make being unfashionable a crime. (I have shared my personal beliefs on where I stand in this topic).

1) I would like a separate MOJ if anyone should arise that is impartial and cares to take on the role. I'd rather the role be open to someone other than Prime Ximbo. My "quick to anger-ness" is rare and only comes out when people criticize my job as a content creator (as well as making up lies about it) and what I do for a living while they themselves have no experience being a content creator. Now, the untrained eye may not be able to see it, but trolls usually give themselves away when they make up lies to fit their narrative and sway people on their side. I haven't lost my cool, if you're interpreting me as being hurt or anything like that, it's not corrrect. Following along with the trend of my vods being taken out of context (curse of knowledge, I guess?) people who've watched know that I read everyone's posts and messages with a neutral tone of voice and hope others will do the same. This helps me remain unbiased.

2) Hate speech will be determined with USA/UK laws in mind and Instagram rules in mind. "Hate speech" according to Oxford dictionary- "abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice on the basis of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or similar grounds." You can't really define everything, however, because trolls dedicate all their time to brainstorming ways to get their point across but "not technically breaking the rules." This will be at mine/MOJ/FP discretion and will only be debated if it seems to be on the wire. If the average person can figure out what you're trying to say, anyone can.

3) I, along with many others, are unaware of what exactly PB can do, how to work the new tools we're handed immediately.  I will do a lot of law-making during my time as PB. This will require a LOT of research, writing, and communication with my PH members on:
-->Laws we want to create for our term or to be carried on after my term as Prime Ximbo
-->How the laws are written, to ensure everyone can read, interpret, and adhere to them
-->How to apply the laws in a way that values both freedom and justice for all

As well as a private space for advice on handling criticism, taking a break, calming strategies, and a place to vent frustrations with everyone, including myself.

This will also require communication with Admin on features I would like to tweak or add.

4) I absolutely am open to feedback, it's important to learn and grow. I am NOT open to people creating lies to spread a false narrative. The entire lawmaking process would involve engagement from the community- perhaps before a SM votes on whether they are for or against a law, they let their people vote to see which side they should be advocating for. I am currently traveling (also the reason why I am responding to posts out-of-order) and whenever I have free time I'm looking to engage more with my community of Freethinkers. I'm taking input that was given to me and following through on it (a skill I've learned throughout my life as an athlete and student). After all, I may not win Prime Ximbo but I would still be State Minister.

P.S. There will be leeway for art! The ximbo believes in expressing creativity, as it is a valued attribute. I enjoyed seeing everyone's art in the SW discord and look forward to seeing it more throughout the forum here, no matter who is elected Prime Ximbo.
