i don't think anyone was implying that trans people are incapable of being predatory, they certainly are. all types of people are capable of being bad people. the question is whether or not allowing trans women to use women's facilities, or to allow trans people the right to self-identification, results in unique danger or harm, and there is currently no evidence that it does. the burden of proof lies with the people alleging that allowing trans people to use the correct public facilities will cause inevitable harm and the burden of proof has not been met. multiple interest groups, such as public school educators, law enforcement agencies, and organizations dedicated to preventing sexual assault and domestic violence against women have also repeatedly stated that there is no evidence of such a thing being an issue.

If a trans doesn’t even try to pass for a woman, they should not use the women's restroom. Women do not have beards and when I see a woman I do not feel she has an ulterior motive being there but with men that is another story. I do not want someone that looks fully male being in my space when I am in a vulnerable state with my panties down thank you. Does my discomfort matter or should I get a man to say this for it to matter? So, the transwomen that are in women’s prisons impregnating inmates is not happening? Mediocre transmen athletes taking the gold in women sports? Transwomen in locker rooms in Planet Fitness? I kid you not, if my brute of a brother wanted to, he could go into the locker rooms where women are undressing if he claims he is a woman! Fake news, right? Right… Will the real slim shady please stand up!
@Theodora- I think you’ve missed the point. This is about women’s spaces being invaded and people ignoring women’s concerns. I am a woman, and I am concerned lol Yeah…a victim of assault is definitely going to feel safe with men in the bathroom. Tone deaf. Transwomen are guests in our spaces and disrespecting our feelings and safety concerns does not bode well.

some women do, in fact, have beards! as many as 13% of cisgender women have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and one of the most common symptoms is hirsutism, or excessive hair growth. many women with PCOS have facial hair and not all of them shave it. PCOS can also cause weight gain, as well as typical "male" traits like chest hair and hairline recession. for most women with PCOS and hirsutism the hair is patchy but some can grow full beards. here's what women with PCOS can look like:
based on all your previous comments i'm guessing you might make a few assumptions about these ladies if you saw them in a women's facility. i might be wrong, but this is representative of another problem with this whole debate. people come in all sorts of shapes and sizes regardless of their gender or sex, and having a "you must be this feminine to enter" rule for women's facilities doesn't actually protect anyone from harm much at all-- as we've already established, the threat is, according to all evidence, negligible-- what it mostly accomplishes is subjecting people who don't look "right", regardless of whether they're cis or trans, to exclusion and humiliation. you don't know someone's story just from looking at them. you don't have the right to kick someone out of a public facility because the sight of them makes you uncomfortable if they're minding their own business.
i've personally never known nor heard of a non-transitioned trans person using public facilities of their gender. i didn't use men's restrooms consistently until i'd been on hormones for 4 or 5 years. we are not gluttons for punishment; we generally would like to use facilities without being harassed. if someone is completely closeted why the hell would they use facilities that would out them? the planet fitness thing doesn't count. the person in that video didn't even identify himself as trans or nonbinary. he called himself "LGB". notice the letter missing? the only instances of fully male-presenting people using the women's bathroom (aside from trans men who are forced to) i've heard of are cisgender men trying to "prove a point" or otherwise just looking for attention and there's a very substantial chance that is what this was. and even those have been very few and far between. cis men's entitlement is not our fault.
btw, according to the most recent comprehensive literature review, the only athletic advantages trans women retain over cis women after 2-3 years on estrogen and testosterone suppression are advantages afforded to them by being, on average, taller. height is not a regulated category in sports. trans women in sports as a topic is oversaturated in media because it draws outrage.
